Raspberry Flavoured 3.3.1: Complete Minecraft Forge 1.19.2 Server Setup Guide

A complete Raspberry Flavoured 3.3.1 server guide covering Forge 1.19.2 compatibility, Java requirements, official scripts, managed hosting, Modrinth, Docker, updates and troubleshooting.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Raspberry Flavoured 3.3.1 runs on Minecraft Java Edition 1.19.2 with Forge 43.5.1. Use the pack’s dedicated server download, not the client installation folder. The official setup is to extract that server pack into its own directory, run update.sh or update.bat, and start with run.sh or run.bat. Managed hosts and Docker can work, but each has additional checks and the project author specifically cautions that Docker has not been tested.

This guide covers compatibility, prerequisites, self-managed installation, managed hosting, Modrinth, Docker, updates, backups and the failures most likely to prevent a successful launch.

What Raspberry Flavoured is and which versions it uses

Raspberry Flavoured is a Minecraft modpack built around exploration and farming. Release 3.3.1 is listed for Minecraft 1.19.2 and Forge 43.5.1. The selected pack file contains 253 mods. That is a file-count detail, not a memory requirement or a promise about how many players a server can support.

Item Required value What it means
Pack release 3.3.1 Use the same release on every client and on the server.
Minecraft Java Edition 1.19.2 This is a Java/Forge pack; a Bedrock installation cannot join it as a Bedrock client.
Forge 43.5.1 The server and clients must use the matching Forge line supplied with the pack.
Mods 253 in the selected pack file A count of packaged mods, not a RAM estimate.
Pack theme Exploration and farming Expect world generation, travel and agricultural systems to be central to play.

The project listing showed 509,845 downloads in 2025/2026. That figure describes the listing at that time; it does not establish a current player count, server capacity or support guarantee.

Prerequisites before you install

  • A matching client: install Raspberry Flavoured 3.3.1 for Minecraft Java 1.19.2. Do not try to connect with a different Minecraft version, Forge version or pack release.
  • Java: Minecraft 1.18 and newer require Java 17. The official guide identified Java 21 as the latest release at the time it was written. Java 25 or newer is unsupported and can cause crashes, so check the project documentation again if your distribution has moved beyond Java 21.
  • A separate server directory: keep the server outside your normal Minecraft folder. This prevents client-only files, saves and configuration from being mixed with the server installation.
  • Access to files and processes: self-managed installation needs shell access on Linux or macOS, or a Windows command prompt and permission to run batch files. A host needs FTP/SFTP access and a server console.
  • Storage and backups: reserve room for the pack, logs, configuration and the world. No required disk size, RAM allocation or player limit is published, so measure your own server while it runs instead of relying on the 253-mod count.
  • EULA acceptance: a normal Minecraft server may create an eula.txt file on first launch. If it does, read the license and set eula=true before starting again.

Choose the deployment route

Route Best for Advantages Trade-offs
Console scripts Operators with shell or local-machine access The clearest official update process, direct logs and complete control over Java, files and backups. You maintain the operating system, firewall, Java installation and uptime.
Managed host with FTP/SFTP and Packwiz People who want the provider to maintain the machine No local server hardware; file transfer and a web console are usually enough. Java versions, permissions, startup wrappers and backup behavior vary by host.
Modrinth server pack Hosts that accept an mrpack Uses the format documented for a pack whose mods are sourced through Modrinth. The host must provide a Forge 1.19.2 environment and allow the pack’s update process.
Docker Container-literate operators who value reproducible deployment Configuration is explicit and data can be isolated in a mounted volume. The project author reports that Raspberry Flavoured was not tested in Docker; troubleshooting is your responsibility.
One-click installation Users who want the fewest manual file operations A provider may install the pack from its panel. Verify that it offers Raspberry Flavoured 3.3.1, the exact Forge/Minecraft versions, backups, the region you need and a way to update the pack. A one-click label does not prove any of those details.

For most first-time operators, the console-script route is the reference implementation. A managed host is convenient when you do not want to administer a machine. Docker is a specialist option rather than the default.

Install on your own Linux or macOS machine

1. Create an isolated server directory

Make a new directory that is not your Minecraft client directory. For example:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
mkdir -p ~/minecraft/raspberry-flavoured-3.3.1
cd ~/minecraft/raspberry-flavoured-3.3.1

The exact location is up to you. What matters is that the server has its own working directory and that you know where its world, logs and configuration will be written.

2. Download and extract the dedicated server pack

Download the Raspberry Flavoured 3.3.1 server pack supplied for servers and extract its contents into the directory you created. Do not upload or copy your ordinary client instance: client folders can contain files that are not intended for a dedicated server.

3. Run the updater

On Linux or macOS, make the script executable if necessary and run it from the server directory:

chmod +x update.sh
./update.sh

The updater obtains the pack’s server-side files and synchronizes the installation. Wait for it to finish before attempting to start the server. If the command reports a permission error, confirm that you are in the directory containing update.sh and that your user can write there.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

4. Start the server

./run.sh

On first launch, watch the console for errors and for the EULA file described in the prerequisites. Stop the process cleanly from the server console, accept the EULA if required, and launch ./run.sh again. Keep the terminal or service logs available while testing a client connection.

5. Connect with the matching client

Launch the Raspberry Flavoured 3.3.1 client on Minecraft Java 1.19.2 with the pack’s Forge version. Connect to the server address and port configured by your machine or host. A client using another pack release can fail during registry synchronization even when its Minecraft version appears correct.

6. Update safely

Stop the server and make a backup of the world and configuration before changing files. Run the same updater again:

cd ~/minecraft/raspberry-flavoured-3.3.1
./update.sh

Review the updater output, then start with ./run.sh. Keep the backup until the new version has started and a client has joined successfully. Never update a live world while the server is writing region files.

Install on Windows

1. Prepare the folder

Create a dedicated folder such as C:MinecraftRaspberryFlavoured-3.3.1 and extract the server pack there. Avoid the folder used by your launcher for client instances.

2. Run the supplied scripts

Open Command Prompt or PowerShell in that folder and run:

update.bat

After the update completes, start the server with:

run.bat

Respond to any EULA prompt as described earlier, then run run.bat again. For later releases, stop the server, back up the world, run update.bat, wait for completion and start with run.bat.

3. Check Java selection

If Windows launches an unexpected Java version, inspect the Java executable selected by your launcher or service and the JAVA_HOME environment variable. Point it to a supported Java 17 or Java 21 installation. A Java 25-or-newer runtime is not supported by the project guidance and may crash before Forge finishes loading.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Use a managed hosting provider

Managed hosting changes the file paths, but the order of operations remains important. Ask the provider which Java runtime it supplies before purchasing; you need a Forge 1.19.2 server with a supported Java version and enough control to run the pack’s update command.

  • Cross platform play for up to five players between Pocket Edition and Windows 10
  • Revamped touch controls, controller support, and a controller mapping screen
  • Enhanced Weather effects! Accumulating snow and more
  1. Create a new Forge 1.19.2 server in the provider panel. Do not select a different Minecraft version and assume the pack will adjust itself.
  2. Stop the newly created server before transferring files.
  3. Upload the Raspberry Flavoured server pack through FTP or SFTP. Upload the dedicated server pack, not your client folder.
  4. Start the server and allow the provider’s files to initialize.
  5. Open the server console and run packwiz update. Wait until the command has completed; interrupting it can leave an incomplete set of mods.
  6. Stop the server again.
  7. Delete the world folder that vanilla Minecraft may have generated during the initial startup. Do this only when following this first-install sequence and only after confirming that the folder contains the unwanted vanilla world. Do not routinely delete an established Raspberry Flavoured world.
  8. Start the server and wait for Forge and the pack to finish loading before connecting.

For future pack updates, back up the world, stop the server, run packwiz update, wait for completion, and restart. If the host’s panel automatically replaces Java or clears files on restart, document those behaviors before relying on automated updates.

Use the Modrinth server-pack option

The project documentation provides a Modrinth mrpack server pack because the pack sources mods through Modrinth. This is useful only when the host supports that format and can create a Forge 1.19.2 instance.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Create a Modrinth server configured for Forge 1.19.2.
  2. Upload the Raspberry Flavoured server mrpack through the host’s documented interface.
  3. Launch the server and watch the log until installation completes.
  4. For later updates, stop the server, run packwiz update in the server console or terminal, wait for it to finish, then start again.

If a provider accepts only a generic ZIP or a client import, ask whether it can preserve server-side files and Packwiz metadata. A client export is not a substitute for the dedicated server pack.

Run it in Docker

The documented container example uses itzg/minecraft-server with Forge, Minecraft 1.19.2, EULA acceptance and the Raspberry server pack’s Packwiz URL. The project author warns that Raspberry Flavoured itself has not been tested in Docker, so use this route only if you can inspect container logs, volumes, permissions and network settings.

Set an environment variable named RASPBERRY_PACKWIZ_URL to the official server pack’s Packwiz URL, then run:

Best Value
Minecraft - Bedrock Edition PS4
  • Play and share with friends on console, mobile and Windows 10
  • discover community creations in the new in-game store
  • access new mini games and game modes through servers

  -p 25565:25565
  -e TYPE=FORGE
  -e EULA=TRUE
  -e VERSION=1.19.2
  -e PACKWIZ_URL=${RASPBERRY_PACKWIZ_URL}
  -v ${PWD}/data:/data
  itzg/minecraft-server

The mounted data directory keeps the world and configuration outside the disposable container. Confirm that the host directory is writable by the container process. Follow startup logs with:

docker logs -f raspberry-flavoured

Do not treat a container reaching the running state as proof that every mod loaded correctly. Look for Forge completion, missing-dependency errors and a listening server port. Because Docker support is not confirmed by the project author, retain a tested backup and be prepared to reproduce the installation with the normal server pack if the image or Packwiz integration fails.

Updating without damaging the world

  • Announce maintenance and stop the server cleanly.
  • Copy the entire world directory plus configuration and pack metadata to a separate backup location.
  • Use the official updater on a self-managed installation, or packwiz update on a managed or Modrinth installation.
  • Wait for the updater to finish and inspect its output for download, checksum or permission errors.
  • Start the server and let it remain online long enough to confirm that Forge, world loading and player login all work.
  • Keep the pre-update backup until you have verified gameplay and any automated backups.

Do not remove the world folder as a generic “fix.” The documented deletion is a first-install cleanup for a vanilla world created by a host before the pack was applied.

Troubleshooting common failures

Symptom Likely cause Action
Forge stops before the server reaches a ready state Unsupported Java, often Java 25 or newer Switch the service to Java 17 or Java 21 and verify JAVA_HOME. Recheck the project’s current Java guidance because support is version-sensitive.
Client reports missing mods or a registry mismatch Client and server are on different pack, Minecraft or Forge versions Install Raspberry Flavoured 3.3.1 on the client and use Minecraft 1.19.2 with Forge 43.5.1 on both sides. Re-run the server updater.
Startup creates an ordinary vanilla world The host started its default server before the pack was installed Stop the server, remove the generated world folder only during the initial setup sequence, apply the server pack and start again.
update.sh will not run Wrong directory or missing execute permission Change into the folder containing the script, use chmod +x update.sh, then run ./update.sh.
Windows starts a different Java installation JAVA_HOME or the service points to an old or unsupported runtime Change the launcher or service Java path to Java 17 or Java 21 and restart the process.
packwiz update appears to do nothing It was run before the server pack finished initializing, or the host blocked writes Stop the server, confirm the console is in the server directory, check FTP/SFTP permissions and run the command again while watching its completion output.
Docker container exits or loops during startup Missing Packwiz URL, unwritable mounted volume or an untested mod/container interaction Inspect docker logs, verify the environment variable and volume permissions, and fall back to the documented server-pack installation if the container cannot complete.
Server is slow or crashes under load Actual resource demand varies with world generation, view distance, mods and players Measure CPU, memory, disk and tick-time behavior on your machine. The 253-mod count does not provide a safe RAM or player-capacity number.

How to judge an “easy” host

No provider can be called easiest solely because it has a Raspberry Flavoured button. Before committing, confirm all of the following in writing or in the control panel:

  • Raspberry Flavoured 3.3.1 is available, not an older pack release.
  • The server is Minecraft 1.19.2 with Forge 43.5.1, or the provider explains exactly how it supplies the matching Forge build.
  • You can upload the dedicated server pack over FTP/SFTP or import the documented Modrinth pack.
  • The console permits packwiz update and the file system permits the update to write files.
  • You can select Java 17 or Java 21 and change JAVA_HOME or the equivalent runtime setting.
  • Backups include the world and configuration, have a retention policy you understand and can be downloaded before an update.
  • The data center location, support hours, cancellation terms and network port policy fit your players.
  • The provider states whether it has tested this exact pack release and whether support covers modpack errors or only the underlying server.

A small dedicated PC or SSD can be a sensible home-server choice, but the available evidence does not establish a required hardware specification. Start with monitoring enabled and scale only after observing real tick time and memory use.

Operational checklist

  1. Confirm Raspberry Flavoured 3.3.1, Minecraft 1.19.2 and Forge 43.5.1.
  2. Install Java 17 or Java 21; avoid Java 25 or newer.
  3. Choose scripts, managed hosting, Modrinth or Docker based on the control and troubleshooting access you actually have.
  4. Use the dedicated server pack in a separate directory.
  5. Run the updater before the first launch.
  6. Accept the EULA if the server creates the standard file.
  7. Start the server, verify logs and join with an identical client installation.
  8. Back up before every update and use the same update mechanism consistently.

Bottom line

The dependable path is a clean Raspberry Flavoured 3.3.1 server-pack installation on Minecraft Java 1.19.2 with Forge 43.5.1, Java 17 or 21, and the supplied update/start scripts. Managed hosts reduce machine administration but require careful FTP, Packwiz, Java and world-folder handling. Modrinth is appropriate when the host supports the documented mrpack; Docker is reproducible but remains an advanced, officially untested option.
