Ubisoft has announced that Rainbow Six Mobile will be shut down. In a message from its Rainbow Six Mobile development team dated October 8, 2026, the company said the game will remain available until January 15, 2027. The announcement did not give a reason for the decision.
The official title is Rainbow Six Mobile. The headline’s “Siege” does not appear in Ubisoft’s naming for this game, so this article covers only the mobile title.

What Ubisoft said about the shutdown
#1 Best Overall
- 1,200 in-game credits for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege.
- Use these credits in-game to purchase the newest Operators, uniforms, weapon skins, charms, and more!
- R6 Credit code will be delivered via email from Amazon and redeemed in the Ubisoft Connect launcher
In English, that reads roughly: “There’s no easy way to say it: we have made the difficult decision to end Rainbow Six Mobile. The game will remain available until January 15, 2027. The next season will arrive next week, as planned.” This is a translation, not Ubisoft’s published English wording. The English-language coverage by Kotaku quoted an English version of the announcement at the time.
Three points in the message matter for readers:
- The game is not stated to have gone offline on the day of the announcement. Ubisoft’s stated end point is January 15, 2027.
- A further season was still planned for the week after the announcement, so the game was still receiving content when the shutdown was announced.
- The message does not say why the decision was made.
Why the “seven months” figure is approximate
Headlines describing this shutdown as happening “7 months” into the game’s full release are a rounded figure. From the February 24, 2026 global-launch post to the October 8, 2026 announcement is about seven and a half months.
Rank #2
- Get the Elite Edition of Rainbow Six Siege X to get access to all game modes and instantly unlock 16 additional operators!
- High stakes 5v5 attack vs. Defense - Alternate between attack and defense, adapting your approach to operators and maps. Feel the thrill and intensity of the action as you leverage next-level destruction and gadgetry to outsmart your opponents in every round.
- Tools of destruction - Destruction is more than chaos: it is a key tool for your success. Use the environment to your advantage – turn walls into windows of opportunity.
- Dual front: dynamic tactical 6v6 warfare - Engage in intense 6v6 battles, where attackers and defenders fight side by side and push to capture enemy sectors while defending their own.
- From recruit to elite - A solid onboarding journey for new players, including a new clearance level path that helps you learn the basics progressively and build the skills and confidence you need before jumping into tactical action.
The shutdown date itself falls roughly ten months and three weeks after the global launch. That is the gap between the global launch and the end of availability, not the gap between launch and announcement.
The game’s history also started earlier than the global launch. Ubisoft says Rainbow Six Mobile had an early launch in 2023 and ran for 15 seasons before the announcement. Ubisoft’s message does not specify the month of that early launch, and the 15-season figure should not be read as a count of months. The “7 months” framing covers only the period from worldwide availability to the announcement.
Rank #3
- Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege X is the undisputed reference in tactical team shooters, where elite strategy and execution triumph.
- Siege X marks the biggest evolution in its history, and deepens the game’s tactical core.
What is not established
Ubisoft’s shutdown message does not state a reason. Secondary coverage has referred to download totals and player criticism, but Ubisoft has not linked either to the decision, and the official announcement offers no player-count, revenue or performance figures. Until Ubisoft explains its reasoning, any cause beyond the announced timeline is speculation.
The announcement also does not address any of the following, so do not assume an answer:
Rank #4
- Jump into the latest expansion, Operation Phantom Sight, and play as the two new operators, Nokk and Warden
- Command an arsenal of gadgets to secure the win: Set traps, fly drones, track footsteps, see through walls, and more
- Lead your teammates to victory in intense, fast paced PVP matches across a wide variety of destructible arenas
- Join a massive online community of over 45 million players as you fight for supremacy
- An ever expanding universe of Operators, gadgets, items, and events updated all year long
- Refunds or purchases made in the game.
- Whether progress or items can be transferred to other Ubisoft titles.
- Whether a Rainbow Six game on other platforms is affected.

As of October 9, 2026, the game is still available under Ubisoft’s stated timeline. Operation Concrete Impact, which Ubisoft announced on September 9, is scheduled through October 13, 2026. Ubisoft also described Close Quarters as a permanent, mobile-exclusive 3v3 mode. The company’s announcement said the next season was planned for the week after October 8, but it is worth confirming the release through Ubisoft’s channels because the announcement was a plan, not a confirmed launch.
Best Value
- 2,670 in-game credits for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege.
- Use these credits in-game to purchase the newest Operators, uniforms, weapon skins, charms, and more!
- R6 Credit code will be delivered via email from Amazon and redeemed in the Ubisoft Connect launcher
Bottom line
Rainbow Six Mobile has a confirmed end date of January 15, 2027. Ubisoft announced the shutdown on October 8, 2026, and gave no reason. The “7 months” figure in headlines is a rounded measure from the February 2026 global launch to the announcement, not a full measure of the game’s lifetime.
