Quant has been selected to provide the interoperability layer for The Clearing House’s planned US network for clearing and settling tokenized bank deposits. Separately, TechBullion reports that Remittix invited 1,000 existing RTX holders to test its PayFi app. The developments are not connected: one targets financial institutions, while the other is described as a consumer crypto-to-fiat service.

What Quant and The Clearing House announced

On September 24, 2026, The Clearing House said it selected Quant to power its On-Chain Money Initiative, a planned interoperable payments network for financial institutions. Quant is to provide the interoperability, orchestration and transaction-management layer, connecting the initiative with existing payment systems including The Clearing House’s RTP real-time payments network and CHIPS wire network. The Clearing House announcement and Quant’s announcement describe the selection.

The intended users are banks and other participating financial institutions, not retail crypto holders. The organizations identify corporate treasury, liquidity management, cross-border payments and digital-asset settlement as potential applications. They also describe immediate settlement and transactions that execute automatically when preset conditions are met. These are goals and use cases for the planned network, not demonstrated results from a live service.

What “tokenized deposits” means here

The Clearing House defines tokenized deposits as digital representations of deposits held at a financial institution. They remain deposits subject to the protections and regulatory oversight of traditional deposits, but are recorded and transferred in a different way; institutions can also set rules for how they move. The Clearing House’s explanation distinguishes this concept from an unbacked crypto token. The announcement does not suggest that tokenization changes which institution owes a customer their deposit.

Bitkey Bitcoin Hardware Wallet, No Screen - Self-Custody, No Seed Phrase
  • BITCOIN EXCLUSIVE, PHONE VERIFICATION: Bitkey is designed from the ground up exclusively for bitcoin — a dedicated hardware wallet for secure bitcoin storage. Approve transactions with a tap using your phone and NFC. No device screen is required.
  • SELF-CUSTODY, NO EXCHANGE OR CUSTODIAN REQUIRED: You hold two of the three keys in the Bitkey system – one on your phone and one on your Bitkey device. The third is stored on Bitkey’s server and cannot move your bitcoin on its own.
  • NO SEED PHRASE: Set up and use Bitkey without creating or storing a seed phrase.
  • 2-of-3 MULTISIG: Three keys are stored separately across your phone, Bitkey device, and Bitkey’s server. Any two keys are required to move your bitcoin.
  • BUILT-IN RECOVERY: Encrypted backup and recovery tools can help you regain access if you lose your phone or Bitkey device. You can also designate a Recovery Contact.

Quant’s role and the expected timing

Quant says it will also offer US financial institutions that process payments through The Clearing House a Tokenized Deposits-as-a-Service option if they do not already have tokenized-deposit capability. That is a bank-side service, separate from a consumer wallet or retail crypto app. Quant’s account of the arrangement includes this detail.

The two organizations expect the network to become available to participating institutions in the first half of 2027. This is a target window, not a guaranteed launch date; The Clearing House says it will provide more details on participation and use cases as development progresses.

What is reported about Remittix PayFi testing

In an October 3, 2026 article, TechBullion reported that Remittix invited 1,000 existing RTX holders to test its PayFi app, initially with EUR and USD options. The article describes a planned flow in which supported cryptocurrency is converted to fiat and sent through compatible banking routes. TechBullion’s report is the source for the cohort, currencies and app-flow details.

Those test details are not independently corroborated by primary Remittix documentation in the material available here. The report therefore does not establish a public launch, broad user availability or verified banking coverage. The announced test should be understood as a reported invitation to a limited group, not proof that the service is operating generally.

How the developments compare

Aspect Quant and The Clearing House Remittix PayFi
Intended user Participating financial institutions Individual users, as described by TechBullion
Reported function Interoperability, clearing and settlement for tokenized bank deposits Conversion of supported crypto to fiat and payout through compatible banking routes, according to TechBullion
Stage Planned institutional availability in the first half of 2027 TechBullion reports a limited invited test; primary confirmation of the app’s status was not located
Evidence basis Both The Clearing House and Quant published the selection announcement Product and testing details here rely on secondary reporting

The overlap is broad: both stories concern movement between digital money and conventional payment systems. Their customers, products and stages are different, and neither organization’s announcement reports a relationship between Quant and Remittix.

How to read the Remittix figures

TechBullion also attributes several promotional milestones to Remittix: more than 10,000 wallet downloads, more than $50 million in cumulative Markets volume, more than 40,000 presale participants, a planned RTX debut on November 24, and a $0.46 final presale stage. These are claims reported in that article, not independently confirmed measurements or completed milestones. The report does not establish token value, investment returns or investment safety; the figures should not be treated as evidence of any of those things.

The Clearing House’s scale claim

The Clearing House says its US-based networks clear and settle more than $2 trillion each day through wire, ACH, check image and real-time payments. This is the organization’s own reported network-scale figure, not an independently measured estimate. It gives context for the institution behind the initiative, but does not show how much volume the proposed on-chain network will handle. The Clearing House announcement attributes the figure to the organization.

What the announcements establish—and what they do not

  • Established by the organizations: Quant was selected for a defined technology role in The Clearing House’s planned institutional initiative.
  • Planned, not yet demonstrated: The initiative’s link to existing payment systems, its intended use cases and its first-half 2027 target window describe development plans, not a live network’s performance.
  • Reported, not independently confirmed: The Remittix holder test, app details and token-related milestones come from TechBullion’s secondary coverage.
  • Not established: The announcements do not show a Quant-Remittix partnership or validate Remittix’s promotional metrics as independent adoption data.
