Navigation readiness and font readiness are separate: a page can meet a navigation condition while fonts used by its content are still loading or triggering layout changes.
Wait for used web fonts before capturing
Here is a complete ES module example. Replace the example URL with the page you want to capture.

What document.fonts.ready does—and does not—wait for
document.fonts exposes the document’s FontFaceSet. Its ready promise resolves when loading of fonts used by the document and the resulting layout operations are complete, with no further font loads needed at that point.

That is not a promise that every font declared in CSS has downloaded. Unused faces may remain unloaded, and a face that did not load in time under font-display: optional may not be used. If a specific typeface or glyph matters to the output, inspect the page’s font loading and CSS rather than treating the promise as a check that all declarations succeeded.
Choose the screenshot area and output
These capture options change what the image contains; they do not replace the font wait. Puppeteer documents the following choices in its ScreenshotOptions reference:

fullPage: truecaptures the complete page rather than only the current viewport.clipcaptures a specified rectangle.pathsaves the image. Puppeteer can infer the screenshot type from the file extension.omitBackground: trueomits the background for a transparent result.
To capture a particular element, Puppeteer also documents ElementHandle.screenshot(). It scrolls the element into view if needed, then uses page screenshot capture; see the ElementHandle screenshot reference.
Handle pages that update after navigation
Some applications add content or change typography after the initial navigation through later application activity. In that case, wait for the application-specific content or state you need first, then await document.fonts.ready, and capture. There is no single universal condition for arbitrary application updates: use a selector or other condition that represents the content your own page must finish rendering.

Why networkidle2 alone may not be enough
A navigation condition such as networkidle2 concerns the navigation lifecycle. document.fonts.ready concerns fonts used by the document and their associated layout work. Because they describe different conditions, satisfying the former does not stand in for explicitly waiting on the latter when web fonts matter to the screenshot.
Do not use the PDF font option for screenshots
Puppeteer’s PDFOptions reference documents waitForFonts, which defaults to true and waits for document.fonts.ready. The ScreenshotOptions reference does not list a waitForFonts setting. For screenshots, wait explicitly in page context as shown above.

The PDF documentation also notes that waiting for fonts may require bringing a background page to the front. That note is documented for PDF generation; it should not be assumed to be a screenshot-specific requirement.

- The capture uses a fallback font: Confirm the relevant face is actually used by the page and check its CSS and loading behavior. Await
document.fonts.readyafter the page reaches the state you intend to capture. - The page is still changing after the font wait: If application code updates content or typography later, wait for that application-specific update before awaiting the font set and taking the screenshot.
- You expected every declared font file to load: The promise covers fonts used by the document, not every declared face. Unused fonts and faces not loaded in time under
font-display: optionalare not guaranteed to download. - You set
waitForFontsin screenshot options: That option is documented for PDF output, not screenshot options. Awaitdocument.fonts.readythroughpage.evaluate()instead. - You expected a viewport image but got the whole page: Remove
fullPage: trueor useclipto define the desired rectangle.
