Its summary mentions display dimensions, scale factor, orientation, origin, and work area as configuration concerns. The page itself could not be opened, and this is not an authoritative Puppeteer type definition; treat those details as leads to verify, not as the AddScreenParams schema.

The exact Puppeteer field names, which values are required, validation limits, return value, removal behavior, exceptions, supported Puppeteer or Chrome versions, and operating-system support are not established here. - Identify your installed Puppeteer version. Check the dependency version in your package manifest or lockfile; do not assume an API shown for another release is available to your project.
- Open the version-matched Puppeteer API reference. Search for
AddScreenParamsand the method that accepts it. Confirm the exact import, method name, fields, required values, and return behavior from that reference. - Check the matching Chrome DevTools Protocol documentation. If Puppeteer exposes the operation through CDP, verify that the protocol method exists in the Chrome version your test actually launches and that its documented semantics fit your case.
- Run a minimal test in the target environment. Confirm the display arrangement and window placement you care about, then test cleanup and failure handling. Repeat in CI if CI is the intended runtime; support and behavior are not established across operating systems or browser versions.
Choose the test environment for the behavior you need
- Software-emulated display: potentially useful for repeatable automation of multi-screen placement, provided your Puppeteer and browser versions document and support the needed operation.
- Real attached display: consider it when the test depends on actual hardware or operating-system behavior that an emulated display may not reproduce. The available sources do not establish a support matrix or say that either approach is universally preferable.
