Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsAn error-group row should help an administrator decide what to investigate next; its detail view should provide enough evidence to investigate without pretending to identify the root cause. A useful design shows six things: occurrence volume and recent frequency, affected users, first- and last-seen times, release and environment context, grouping identity, and a representative event with diagnostic details.
These are design recommendations based on documented error-monitoring patterns, not confirmed features of any particular property-management agent product. An event is one occurrence of an error; a group collects related occurrences into a unit for investigation.

1. Show both total occurrences and recent activity
Display the group’s occurrence count so an administrator can gauge its accumulated volume. Where the system supports it, pair that count with a short time-series or recent-frequency view. The total answers “How much has this happened?”; the recent view helps answer “Is it still happening, or has it started to spike?” Google Cloud documents a group count, while New Relic documents recent occurrences and counts by version.
Make the time window clear if the frequency view is limited to a selected period. A lifetime count and a recent rate describe different things; neither should be presented as a substitute for the other.

2. Separate affected users from event count
Show the number of distinct affected users alongside the number of events. These figures are not interchangeable: many repeat events may come from one person, while fewer events may be spread across many people. The first pattern suggests concentrated recurrence; the second may indicate broader impact. Google Cloud and New Relic both document affected-user metrics.
3. Make first seen and last seen visible
Include the group’s first-seen and last-seen timestamps. First seen indicates when the issue was initially recorded; last seen indicates its latest recorded recurrence. Together with recent frequency, these timestamps help distinguish a longstanding, quiet group from one that is active again. Google Cloud and New Relic document both group-level times.

4. Add release and environment context
Show the release or version associated with occurrences, and provide a way to filter or compare by version when the monitoring system supports it. New Relic documents occurrence counts by version. If a group appears primarily in one deployed version, that is useful evidence for investigation, but it does not establish that the release caused the error.

5. Explain what makes occurrences one group
Make the group’s error type and message inspectable, and expose its fingerprint or grouping explanation when available. Grouping turns individual occurrences into triage units, but the rules differ among monitoring products. Google Cloud describes grouping based on stack-trace information. GOV.UK’s Sentry guidance says Sentry fingerprints errors and, by default, uses the stack trace, then exception type, then message when earlier information is unavailable.
This makes “Why are these events grouped together?” a practical question for the detail view to answer. Do not imply that every tracker uses the same inputs or grouping algorithm: a group boundary reflects product-specific rules, not necessarily a definitive statement that two failures have the same cause.

6. Provide a representative event and diagnostic context
Let an administrator open a sample occurrence from the group. The detail view should include its stack trace and useful event context. Google Cloud defines an error event as a single occurrence with contextual information, and New Relic documents stack traces in error details. This gives an investigator evidence to examine, but a representative event alone is not an automatic root-cause verdict.

How to read the signals together
Use the row to establish scale, reach, timing, and deployment context; use the detail view to inspect identity and a concrete occurrence. For example, a high event count with few affected users tells a different prioritization story from a smaller count affecting many users. A recent rise associated with a version is a lead to investigate, not proof of causation. Keeping those distinctions visible helps administrators prioritize without overstating what the dashboard knows.
