Progress Bar V08 is a free upload-list interface template, not a ready-to-use server uploader. Colorlib says both choosing files and clicking “Simulate upload” trigger simulated progress; the page does not establish a live upload service or backend integration. It gives each file its own progress bar and uploading, complete, or failed status, with controls such as cancel, retry, and remove.
What Progress Bar V08 includes
Colorlib describes V08 as an upload panel with a drop zone and file list. Each file row can show a type badge, its own progress bar, transferred bytes, and estimated time remaining. The advertised interface includes uploading, complete, and failed states, plus cancel, retry, and remove controls. A simulation button adds three files, including one that fails. Colorlib’s V08 page also says selecting files in the picker runs the same simulated behavior.

The page describes the template as plain HTML and CSS with a small amount of vanilla JavaScript. Its published download size is 202 KB, according to Colorlib; the download does not include jQuery, Bootstrap files, or plugins. Colorlib says the standalone snippet looks the same when placed in Bootstrap 4, 5, or 6 projects, but that is the publisher’s compatibility statement, not an independent test.
Does it really upload files?
No live file transfer is established by the product page. V08 demonstrates the appearance and interaction of an upload list: progress changes, completion and failure states, and related controls. To upload files to a real service, you must connect the interface to your own upload mechanism and backend. A visual progress bar alone cannot send a file or confirm that a server received it.

What the demo is useful for
- Previewing a multi-file upload interface with separate progress and status for each file.
- Prototyping how uploading, success, failure, cancellation, retry, and removal might appear.
- Adapting a front-end example without adding Bootstrap assets or a plugin just to display the template.
What it does not establish
- A connection to a storage service, API, or server.
- Real transfer progress, resumable uploads, or server-confirmed completion.
- That cancel and retry controls are wired to a production upload transport.
How to show real progress for each file
For a working uploader, connect each file row to the state of its corresponding transfer. Keep the displayed progress and status tied to actual upload events, rather than advancing them on a timer. The upload implementation must also define what counts as completion, how errors are reported, and what cancel or retry does to the underlying request.
- Track each file separately so one file’s progress does not overwrite another’s.
- Update the visible bar and its accessible numeric value together whenever measured progress changes.
- Show readable status text for uploading, complete, failed, and any other state your implementation supports; do not rely on color alone.
- Make cancel and retry controls operate on the real transfer, and describe file-specific actions in their accessible names.
- Announce meaningful completion or failure changes without flooding assistive technology with every progress update.
These are implementation requirements for a real uploader, not evidence that V08 already includes transport integration.

Using progress bars with Bootstrap 5.3
V08 is described as not requiring Bootstrap files, so Bootstrap is a compatibility context rather than a bundled dependency. If you adapt the interface to a Bootstrap project, the official Bootstrap v5.3 progress documentation places the progress role and ARIA value attributes on the outer .progress wrapper. The inner .progress-bar supplies the visual fill, whose width must be set through inline style, a utility class, or custom CSS. The wrapper also needs an accessible name.
Bootstrap documents its more accessible progress markup as introduced in v5.3.0; its documentation says the previous structure continues to work until v6. The cited documentation is for Bootstrap v5.3, whose footer identified v5.3.8 as current when accessed on October 8, 2026; it should not be treated as confirmation of APIs in later releases.

Keep the visual and accessible states aligned
The bar’s CSS width and the wrapper’s ARIA value are separate markup. Changing one does not automatically update the other. When a real upload reports new progress, update the visible width, accessible numeric value, and any visible percentage or status text together. For completed or failed states, provide meaningful text as well as color.
Make labels readable
Bootstrap supports stacked bars, labels, contextual backgrounds, stripes, and animated stripes. Its documentation cautions that color alone does not convey meaning to assistive technology. A label inside a narrow bar can be clipped or hard to read because of contrast; placing the label outside the bar may be clearer when text can overlap.

Accessibility claims and practical checks
Colorlib’s V08 page lists color and text for upload states, per-file progress semantics, aria-valuetext for done and failed states, file-specific button labels, managed focus, a polite live region for finished or failed uploads, and long-name truncation on phones. These are claims on the template page, not results of an independent accessibility audit.
- Verify that each progress indicator has an accessible name and a meaningful value or text status.
- Check that controls identify which file they affect and that keyboard focus remains understandable after an action.
- Test narrow screens and long filenames so the file name, progress, and controls remain usable.
- Confirm announcements are helpful and do not repeat excessively during changing progress.
