Qué significa desarrollar en un iPad sin laptop

Cómo empezar con Swift en el propio iPad
- Instala Swift Playgrounds desde el canal disponible para tu dispositivo y comprueba que tu versión de iPadOS sea compatible con la versión instalada. Los requisitos pueden cambiar; consulta la guía de Swift Playgrounds para iPadOS.
- Abre un playground o crea un app playground. Empieza con un ejercicio pequeño de Swift o una interfaz con SwiftUI para familiarizarte con el editor y la vista previa.
- Prueba el cambio en el dispositivo. Ejecuta el playground y observa cómo responde la vista previa antes de añadir más archivos o dependencias.
- Amplía el proyecto gradualmente. Playgrounds admite añadir archivos y paquetes; si una tarea requiere herramientas o pruebas que no están disponibles en ese entorno, considera un entorno remoto o un Mac.

Cuándo conviene pasar a un entorno remoto
Elige Codespaces cuando necesites una terminal, ejecutar comandos, compilar o depurar en un entorno de desarrollo alojado fuera del iPad. La máquina virtual remota aporta los recursos de cómputo del entorno; la memoria del iPad no se convierte en la memoria de esa máquina.

- Abre el repositorio en un codespace desde un navegador compatible y espera a que cargue el entorno remoto.
- Edita en el cliente web y utiliza la terminal integrada del codespace para las tareas que requieran comandos o ejecución.
- Guarda los cambios con Git desde el entorno y comprueba que se hayan confirmado y sincronizado con el repositorio.
La experiencia exacta en iPad puede variar según navegador, controles y compatibilidad de extensiones; no se debe asumir que será idéntica a la de un ordenador. Consulta la información vigente de GitHub Codespaces, sus características y la guía para desarrollar en un codespace. La disponibilidad, cuota y facturación pueden cambiar, así que comprueba los términos actuales antes de depender del servicio.
Por qué VS Code for the Web no sustituye a Codespaces
Ambos se usan desde el navegador, pero ofrecen capacidades distintas. VS Code for the Web permite explorar y editar archivos y confirmar cambios; no trae una máquina remota ni una terminal integrada. Codespaces añade un entorno remoto donde sí puedes ejecutar comandos y trabajar con terminal, ejecución y depuración. Si solo necesitas editar código, el editor web puede bastar; si necesitas compilar o ejecutar, necesitas un entorno que aporte cómputo.

El límite de Xcode y las pruebas para apps Apple
Swift Playgrounds sirve para aprender, experimentar y crear app playgrounds en iPad, pero no cubre todo el proceso de desarrollo, pruebas y distribución de Xcode. Apple documenta Xcode como el entorno más amplio para desarrollar sus plataformas y especifica que Simulator se ejecuta en Mac. Si tu trabajo depende de ese flujo completo, planifica acceso a un Mac en lugar de asumir que el iPad lo reemplaza. Revisa los requisitos del sistema de Xcode y la descripción del proceso de desarrollo de Apple.

No hay base publicada aquí para prometer una velocidad concreta, compatibilidad por modelo o una experiencia fluida en todos los iPads con 2 GB. La cifra por sí sola no indica qué versión de iPadOS admite el dispositivo ni cómo responderá una app concreta. Para saberlo en un equipo específico, verifica el modelo y la versión del sistema, instala la herramienta y prueba el proyecto real con la carga de trabajo que necesitas.
