To open Print Management, press Windows+R, enter printmanagement.msc, and press Enter. If Windows cannot find the file, the console may not be available in that installation or edition. For a printer’s pending jobs, use its print queue in Settings instead.
Open Print Management with the Run dialog
- Press Windows+R to open Run.
- Type
printmanagement.msc. - Press Enter.
Microsoft identifies PrintManagement.msc as the Print Management Console file. The console is an administrative tool for managing print servers and printers, rather than the everyday view of jobs waiting for one printer. What to do if Windows cannot find printmanagement.msc
First, check that you need the administrative console rather than a single printer’s queue. If your goal is to inspect pending jobs, use the Settings route above. If you need print-server administration and the command is missing, check which Windows version and edition you have before looking for an installation method.
Microsoft’s RSAT reference lists Print and Document Services Tools for Windows Server and marks them unavailable in the two Windows client installation columns shown in its table. That describes those RSAT installation options; it does not establish that the console is absent from every Windows client image, nor does it provide one installation fix for every configuration. Availability can depend on the specific installation, so do not assume a universal repair command.

Is Computer Management an alternative?
No. Computer Management is a separate administrative console. Microsoft documents opening it from Start search or by pressing Windows+R, entering compmgmt.msc, and pressing Enter. Those steps open Computer Management, not Print Management. See Microsoft’s system configuration tools guide.
Windows version note
Microsoft’s printer-queue instructions cover Windows 10 and Windows 11. Microsoft states that support for Windows 10 ended on October 14, 2025; the Settings path above remains the documented route in its Windows 10 instructions, but the operating system is no longer supported.
