The reimage itself is specific to your hosting provider: use its documented rebuild process, confirm exactly what it erases, and make verified backups before starting. Webuzo’s general installation guide does not provide a universal reimage command or promise that existing data will be preserved.
Before reimaging, confirm the OS and protect your data
A server reimage replaces or rebuilds its operating system. The provider controls how that process works and whether it erases the whole disk, selected partitions, or attached storage. Check the provider’s instructions for your server type and confirm the consequences before approving the rebuild. Back up anything you need—including site files, databases, email, configuration, and keys—and make sure you can access the backup independently of the server.

Check the exact Linux image and release against Webuzo’s current installation-specific documentation before choosing it. Webuzo’s v4 installation guide and system requirements page do not list identical operating-system versions. The v4 guide includes Rocky Linux 8.x, 9.x, and 10.x and CloudLinux 8.x and 9.x; the requirements page includes CentOS 7.x/8.x, RHEL 7.x/8.x, Scientific Linux 7.x/8.x, CloudLinux 7.x/8.x/9.x, and Rocky Linux 8.x. Both pages list several AlmaLinux releases and Ubuntu LTS releases, but the lists differ there too. Do not assume a distribution or version listed on one page is necessarily accepted by the installer: verify your intended image with Webuzo’s current installation documentation.
Webuzo’s v4 guide gives minimum requirements of 1 GB RAM and 5 GB disk, and recommends 2 GB RAM and 10 GB disk. It also says PHP, Apache, and MySQL should not already be installed, and requires SELinux to be disabled. The guide lists package utilities and other setup conditions; review it for the full prerequisites before installing.

Reinstall the operating system through your provider
- Sign in to your server provider’s control panel or follow its documented support process for reinstalling the OS. The exact interface and steps vary by provider and server type.
- Select the Linux distribution and release you have verified against Webuzo’s installation-specific documentation.
- Review the provider’s data-loss notice, disk and storage selection, and any network or SSH-key options. Proceed only when you understand what will be removed and have a usable backup.
- Wait for the provider to finish the rebuild. Use the new server’s address and credentials or SSH key supplied by the provider to connect.
Webuzo documents the installation after a new OS is in place; it does not prescribe a provider-neutral way to perform these rebuild steps or recover data from a previous installation.
Install Webuzo over SSH
Once the fresh OS is reachable, connect to it using SSH with an account that has permission to install software. Webuzo’s v4 guide uses these commands:

./install.shThe standard command installs Webuzo along with the LAMP stack, DNS server, and FTP server. If you want to install no applications initially, the guide provides ./install.sh --install=none. It also supports specifying applications with the --install=... option; consult the guide for the applicable values and details. The installation log is at /root/webuzo-install.log.

Webuzo recommends keeping ports 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 21, 22, 25, 53, 80, 110, 143, 443, 465, 993, 995, 587, and 3306 open. That is a list of recommended ports, not a requirement to expose every service to the public: allow only the ports needed for your configuration and security policy.

Complete panel and hostname configuration
After installation, follow Webuzo’s setup flow to check panel configuration, enter the server’s valid IP address and hostname, and configure primary and secondary nameservers that point to the server. Webuzo documents these panel addresses:
- Admin panel: HTTPS at
https://Your-IP:2005/or HTTP athttp://Your-IP:2004/. - End-user panel: HTTPS at
https://Your-IP:2003/or HTTP athttp://Your-IP:2002/.
Replace Your-IP with the server’s address. Use the HTTPS address when it is configured and reachable; ensure your DNS and firewall settings match the services you intend to provide.

One-off server install or reusable provider template?
These are separate workflows. For an individual server, reinstall the OS through the provider, then run the installer and complete panel setup. For a provider packaging a reusable OS template, Webuzo’s template guide says to install Webuzo on a fresh OS, skip the initial setup described in the installation guide, and create /var/webuzo/reconfigure before packaging the template. That marker is for template deployment; it does not replace the provider’s normal reimage procedure for an individual server.
