NVIDIA has not announced another stock split. As of October 12, 2026, its latest documented split remains the 10-for-1 action completed in June 2024. The company has published no schedule, share-price trigger or formula for a future split, so any predicted date or ratio would be speculation.
What is the prediction for NVIDIA’s next stock split?
A future split is possible, but there is no evidence in NVIDIA’s official materials that one is planned. The company’s investor FAQs and filings document completed corporate actions, not an automatic split policy. There is therefore no defensible way to name a date, trigger price or ratio as the likely outcome. Check NVIDIA’s investor FAQs and its SEC filings for an official announcement; until one appears, treat specific forecasts as conjecture.

What happened in NVIDIA’s last two stock splits?
| Action | Ratio and mechanics | Timing |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 forward split | 10-for-1: each share became ten shares, with the split-adjusted per-share price divided by ten, all else equal. | Announced in May 2024; additional shares distributed after market close June 7, with split-adjusted trading beginning June 10, 2024. |
| 2021 forward split | 4-for-1: each share became four, with the trading price divided by four, all else equal. | Announced in May 2021, subject to stockholder approval; split-adjusted trading began July 20, 2021. |
The 2024 dates and ratio are documented in NVIDIA’s 2024 stock-split FAQ and its June 7, 2024 Form 8-K. The earlier action is described in the 2021 stock-split FAQ and 2021 announcement.
Two past splits do not establish a cadence. The difference between 4-for-1 and 10-for-1 is historical evidence, not a rule that predicts what the board might choose next.

Why did NVIDIA split its shares?
NVIDIA said the 2024 split was intended to make ownership more accessible to employees and investors after significant appreciation in its share price. That explains the company’s stated reason for that action; it does not commit NVIDIA to split again at a particular price.
A forward split increases the number of shares and reduces the price per share proportionally. It does not, by itself, increase an investor’s proportional ownership or the total value of that holding. NVIDIA’s FAQ says the split would not change the total value of shares or dilute each holder’s proportionate interest. The market price can still rise or fall for other reasons, so a split is not evidence of a guaranteed return.

What would another split mean for shareholders?
The mechanics would depend on the ratio announced. For example, if NVIDIA announced a hypothetical 5-for-1 split when a share traded at $1,000, a holder of one share would receive five shares at an adjusted price of about $200 each, all else equal. The example illustrates arithmetic only; it is not a forecast of NVIDIA’s price or a proposed ratio.
In its 2024 split-related charter amendment, NVIDIA increased authorized common shares proportionally from 8.0 billion to 80.0 billion. Authorized shares are the maximum the company is permitted to issue under its charter; that figure is not the number of shares outstanding.

How to tell a confirmed split from a prediction
- Confirmed action: Look for a company announcement or filing that states the board action, ratio and relevant dates.
- Forecast: A proposed price threshold, date or ratio without an NVIDIA announcement is speculation, even if it is based on prior splits.
- Price examples: Treat projected post-split prices as arithmetic based on an explicitly stated hypothetical pre-split price—not as price targets.
- Historical comparisons: Account for prior split adjustments when comparing share prices over time.
NVIDIA’s filings page and investor-relations materials are the appropriate places to verify a claimed corporate action. The company’s FY2026 Form 10-K provides company reporting, but does not establish a future split schedule or threshold.

The operational terms below applied to the 2024 split only; they are not terms for any hypothetical future action. NVIDIA said brokers would adjust accounts and expected additional shares to appear by June 10, 2024. It advised holders to contact their broker if shares were delayed. NVIDIA also said it would not issue fractional shares in connection with that split and directed investors with fractional shares to consult their brokerage.

NVIDIA’s FAQ says the company cannot provide tax advice and recommends that stockholders consult a tax adviser about their circumstances. Tax treatment can depend on jurisdiction and individual facts.
