Pokémon TCG Live on PC: How to Play with BlueStacks—or Without It

Pokémon TCG Live works on PC through Pokémon’s official desktop app or, as a separate option, the Android app in BlueStacks. Here are the steps and emulator requirements.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

You can play Pokémon TCG Live on a Windows PC or Mac without BlueStacks: Pokémon’s support instructions direct desktop users to download the official app from Pokemon.com/TCGL. If you specifically want to run the Android version, BlueStacks provides a separate emulator route: install BlueStacks, sign in to Google Play, install Pokémon TCG Live, and launch it there.

Choose the right way to play on a computer

Route What you install What the available instructions establish
Official desktop app Pokémon TCG Live for Windows or macOS Pokémon Support directs Windows and Mac users to download the app from Pokemon.com/TCGL. Its support instructions point to that site for system requirements but do not reproduce the requirements in the support text. Pokémon Support
BlueStacks BlueStacks 5 and the Android version of Pokémon TCG Live BlueStacks describes installing the emulator, signing in to Google Play, finding and installing the game, then launching it from the BlueStacks home screen. Its listed minimums are BlueStacks-specific, not official requirements for Pokémon’s desktop app. BlueStacks’ game page

Both are ways to play on a computer, but they are not the same installation. Use the official desktop download if you want Pokémon’s Windows or Mac app. Use BlueStacks if you want to run the Android app in an emulator. The cited sources do not establish that either route is faster or more reliable.

How to install Pokémon TCG Live with BlueStacks

  1. Install BlueStacks. Download and install BlueStacks on your PC or Mac using the instructions on BlueStacks’ Pokémon TCG Live page.
  2. Sign in to Google Play. Sign in with a Google account in BlueStacks to access the Play Store. You can do this before searching or when prompted during installation.
  3. Find the game. Search for Pokémon TCG Live in BlueStacks and select the relevant result.
  4. Install it. Use the Play Store listing to install the game in the emulator.
  5. Launch the game. Open the Pokémon TCG Live icon from the BlueStacks home screen.

These steps follow BlueStacks’ game-specific setup instructions. They describe installing the Android app through an emulator; they are not Pokémon’s instructions for its native desktop app.

BlueStacks requirements for Pokémon TCG Live

BlueStacks’ Pokémon TCG Live page lists the following as minimum requirements for BlueStacks 5. These are the game-page specifications from BlueStacks, modified August 24, 2026, and should not be read as Pokémon’s requirements for its native Windows or Mac app.

  • Windows 7 or later, or macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later
  • An Intel, AMD, or Apple Silicon processor
  • At least 4 GB of RAM
  • 10 GB of free disk space
  • Administrator access on the computer
  • Current graphics drivers

BlueStacks Support’s general BlueStacks 5 minimum-requirements page, dated August 9, 2024, differs from the game-specific page: it lists Windows 7 or later, an Intel or AMD processor, at least 4 GB RAM, and 5 GB free storage, along with administrator access and current graphics drivers. For a superior gaming experience, it recommends Windows 10 or later, a multi-core Intel or AMD processor, a qualifying GPU, virtualization enabled, at least 8 GB RAM, SSD storage, broadband, and current graphics drivers. It also says Windows 7 and 8 users can use BlueStacks versions 5.21.300 and below, while the latest BlueStacks version requires Windows 10 or later. See BlueStacks Support’s requirements page and check current requirements before installing, particularly because its general and game-specific pages list different storage and Mac details.

Pokémon Support points desktop users to the official TCG Live site for the app’s system requirements; the support article itself does not state those values. Do not use BlueStacks’ figures as a substitute for the official desktop app’s requirements. Pokémon’s installation instructions

Former Pokémon TCG Online players use the same Pokémon Trainer Central account service to sign in to TCG Live. Pokémon says eligible collection data can transfer when a player first signs in, but some items are excluded and transfer limits apply; do not assume that every item from the old game will carry over. Details are in Pokémon Support’s account and transfer guidance.

Do you need to buy Pokémon cards to play?

No physical product is required for the PC setup. Pokémon Support says code cards branded for Pokémon TCG Online and included with Pokémon TCG products can be redeemed in TCG Live. Some products may unlock different items than they did in the former game, and each code card can be redeemed only once across Pokémon TCG Online and Pokémon TCG Live. Check the contents of a specific current product before relying on it for a code or a particular reward. Pokémon Support
