The best choice for your raid party depends not just on personal damage, but also on survivability, Primal Groudon’s team bonus and whether you have the right form and moves.
Which Ground attackers lead the rankings?
Dittobase’s ranking, updated October 6, 2026, places these Pokémon in the top five under its baseline settings: Level 40, 15/15/15 IVs, no weather, no friendship bonus and no Party Power. Its effective DPS (eDPS) metric accounts for relobby downtime across a representative set of bosses weak to Ground.

Why Primal Groudon can help the whole raid party
Primal Groudon’s value is not limited to its own damage. Pokémon GO’s official announcement says that having it in the party boosts Fire-, Grass- and Ground-type attacks in raids. That added party contribution can make it a more valuable choice than a damage-only ranking suggests, particularly when teammates are using one of those types. - Personal damage: A ranking’s DPS or eDPS estimate can help identify attackers that deal damage quickly. Check the tool’s assumptions; Dittobase’s eDPS, for example, includes modeled relobby downtime.
- Total damage and survivability: A fast attacker may faint sooner. Look at the ranking tool’s total-damage measure as well as its damage-per-second figure when choosing a full team.
- Party contribution: Include Primal Groudon’s raid attack bonus for Fire-, Grass- and Ground-type moves when assessing its contribution to the group.
- Access to the form and moves: A top-ranked option is useful only if you can use it with the form and moves required for the ranking. Availability of a specific Pokémon, special form or move can depend on events.
What to know about Primal and Shadow availability
Pokémon GO’s Help Center explains that defeating a Primal Raid boss awards Primal Energy, which is required to turn Groudon or Kyogre Primal. It describes Shadow Raids as limited-time Gym raids featuring Shadow Pokémon. The official sources cited here do not give a next appearance date for any specific Pokémon, form or move, so check current in-game events rather than assuming a ranked option is presently obtainable. Why rankings can change
Raid rankings are calculations, and their order depends on the measures and settings a tool uses. Pokémon GO has also announced changes to battle systems that affect raid and Gym damage output, energy generation and move duration.
