The POCO M8 5G is the clearer choice if you want a manufacturer-confirmed AMOLED display; the OnePlus N6 5G has the larger published battery. Both list a 50MP main camera and 45W charging. A 91mobiles India listing snapshot on October 5, 2026 showed the POCO at ₹22,849 and the OnePlus at ₹24,999—a ₹2,150 gap, not a guaranteed current price.

POCO M8 5G vs OnePlus N6 5G: key specifications

Display 6.77-inch, 2392 × 1080, 120Hz Flow AMOLED, according to POCO’s official product page. 120Hz is confirmed on OnePlus’s launch page; the page does not establish the full panel technology and resolution.

Which phone has the better display?

POCO has the more fully documented screen in the available manufacturer specifications: a 6.77-inch 120Hz Flow AMOLED panel at 2392 × 1080. OnePlus confirms a 120Hz display, but its cited launch page does not specify the complete panel details. That is a difference in what these pages establish, not proof that the N6 uses a particular alternative panel. Choose the POCO if AMOLED is a must-have, and check OnePlus’s current full specification listing if screen technology or resolution will determine your purchase.

Battery capacity and charging

The OnePlus N6 lists substantially more battery capacity: 8000mAh typical and 7780mAh rated, versus the POCO M8’s 5520mAh typical. OnePlus describes “3 days” of use as its own claim, qualified by usage and network conditions; capacity figures alone do not establish how long either phone will last in your routine.

Both manufacturers list 45W charging, with OnePlus specifying 45W SuperVOOC. The matching headline wattage does not establish equal charging time or performance. The POCO package listing includes an adapter, but POCO says box contents can vary by region; check the exact N6 package and local listing rather than assuming an adapter is included.

Camera and performance: what the specifications can tell you

Both phones list a 50MP main camera. Megapixel count alone cannot show which phone takes better photos: image processing, other camera hardware, and shooting conditions matter, and the cited sources do not provide an independent controlled comparison.

POCO identifies the M8’s processor as Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. The cited OnePlus launch page does not establish a comparable processor specification, so these sources do not support a performance winner. Compare exact RAM and storage configurations for the variants sold where you live; do not assume two phones with the same model name are offered with identical memory.

Durability ratings and software claims

POCO lists IP66, but its specifications page describes controlled laboratory resistance to dust and water jets, warns that resistance can decline, and says not to immerse the phone. OnePlus lists IP65 and MIL-STD-810H certification on its launch page. Neither rating means waterproof or indestructible, and they should not be treated as directly interchangeable promises of protection.

OnePlus’s “60-Month Smooth Experience” is a fluency-test claim, not a guarantee that the phone will never lag or a statement of OS-upgrade and security-update support. OnePlus says the 6GB variant passed 60-month testing while the 4GB variant supports 48-month smoothness; its product page also notes that 60fps video recording is listed only for the 6GB+128GB N6 variant. Check the memory configuration and the official update policy separately if either matters to you.

India price difference and buying checklist

On October 5, 2026, 91mobiles displayed ₹22,849 for the POCO M8 and ₹24,999 for the OnePlus N6 5G, making the OnePlus ₹2,150 more expensive in that listing snapshot. These are time-sensitive third-party listing prices, not confirmed official MSRPs or guaranteed offers. See the 91mobiles comparison and recheck the live listing before purchase.

  • Compare the same RAM and storage capacity, not just the model names.
  • Check the seller, current stock, warranty coverage, and price in your country.
  • Confirm whether the package includes a charger and case; POCO specifically notes that box contents may vary by region.
  • For the OnePlus N6, confirm the exact memory variant if you need 60fps video recording.

Which should you choose?

Choose the POCO M8 5G if

  • You want the manufacturer-confirmed 6.77-inch AMOLED display.
  • The lower price in the dated India listing snapshot matches your budget, after checking the current offer and variant.
  • You want a specified Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor and 5520mAh typical battery.

Choose the OnePlus N6 5G if

  • Published battery capacity is your priority: it lists 8000mAh typical / 7780mAh rated.
  • You want OxygenOS 16 and the stated IP65 and MIL-STD-810H credentials.
  • You are comfortable verifying display details and the exact variant against the current listing before you buy.

Neither phone is a universal winner on the available evidence. The deciding factors are whether you prioritize the POCO’s documented AMOLED panel or the OnePlus’s higher stated battery capacity, alongside the live price and precise regional variant.
