The POCO M8 5G and Nothing Phone (4b) share a 6.77-inch, 120Hz-class display and a 50MP main camera, but their camera setups, batteries, software and regional configurations differ. Official specifications do not establish a clear overall performance or camera winner, and Nothing’s published launch prices are not a current like-for-like price comparison.

How do the displays compare?
Both phones list a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate reaching 120Hz. POCO specifies a 2392 × 1080 resolution for its Flow AMOLED panel. Nothing describes its Super AMOLED panel as adaptive 120Hz; the cited page does not give a resolution, so a resolution advantage cannot be established from these specifications.

POCO advertises 3200 nits peak brightness on its product page. That is a manufacturer figure, not a shared independent measurement, and should not be treated as proof that its screen is brighter in comparable everyday conditions. POCO’s product page also highlights 4K recording and a 7.35mm body, likewise as manufacturer-stated features.

The camera descriptions show different hardware priorities: POCO lists a depth sensor and specifies its front-camera resolution, while Nothing specifies stabilisation and an ultra-wide field of view. They do not establish which phone takes better photos or video; that requires comparable testing rather than megapixel counts or feature lists alone.
Which has the larger battery, and how fast do they charge?
POCO lists a 5,520mAh typical battery, 45W charging and up to 18W wired reverse charging. Nothing lists 5,200mAh for the general Phone (4b), with a 6,000mAh battery for its India version. Those regional battery figures mean the comparison depends on which Phone (4b) is sold in your market. The cited Nothing page does not state a charging speed, so it does not support a charging-speed comparison.

What software and durability details are documented?
The POCO specification page lists HyperOS 2; Nothing’s product page lists Android 16 and Nothing OS. These are the software versions or names shown on those pages, not a promise about future update duration.
POCO lists IP66 dust and water resistance and says the rating is based on controlled laboratory conditions. Its page cautions that resistance can deteriorate and that the rating is not protection against immersion. POCO also refers to internal-lab drop tests; that is a manufacturer claim, not an independent durability comparison. The cited Nothing product page does not state an IP rating, so no relative water-resistance conclusion is supported here. POCO’s product page gives its related manufacturer claims.

What are the prices, and is there a clear price difference?
There is no defensible universal price gap in the cited information: Nothing’s figures are launch prices for specified regions and configurations, while a matching current POCO retail price is not established. Nothing Community’s July 7, 2026 release post lists the Phone (4b) 8GB/128GB at £299, ₹29,999 or €329. For India, it also lists an 8GB/256GB model at ₹33,699 effective price with qualifying bank-discount and exchange offers, against an MRP of ₹38,999. These are launch-context figures, not verified current checkout prices. See Nothing Community’s Phone (4b) release post.

Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the POCO M8 5G if its listed 45W charging, larger typical battery than the general Phone (4b) version, expandable storage or specified front-camera resolution fits your priorities. Its IP66 claim comes with the laboratory and no-immersion qualifications above.
- Consider the Nothing Phone (4b) if you value an ultra-wide rear camera, optical image stabilisation on the main camera, or the India version’s listed 6,000mAh battery. Confirm the exact local configuration and current price.
- Compare locally before deciding on value: the available launch prices cannot establish which phone costs less today for equivalent storage.
