Price difference
91mobiles showed ₹14,999 at Flipkart for the M7 Pro and ₹22,820 at Amazon for the M8 when accessed on 2026-10-05. Treat both as retailer snapshots. Neither is a launch price, an MSRP or an official POCO list price. The two prices come from different sellers and may cover different RAM/storage variants. Before you decide, compare the same configuration at the same retailer, with the warranty that applies in your country.

Performance
The M8’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 is built on a 4nm process. The M7 Pro’s Dimensity 7025-Ultra uses 6nm. A newer process node and chip name do not prove faster everyday performance, battery efficiency or thermal behaviour. 91mobiles’ page includes benchmark and battery-test figures, but those are third-party claims rather than official specifications. Look for independent reviews of both phones if sustained gaming performance matters to you.

Display
Both phones use 120Hz AMOLED-class panels at roughly Full HD+ resolution. The M8 is slightly bigger at 6.77 inches against 6.67 inches. Its 3200-nit peak figure is well above the M7 Pro’s 2100 nits, but these are manufacturer numbers published by different regional sites. They are not a side-by-side measurement and may not use identical test conditions. In practice, expect the M8 to be at least as readable outdoors, but not necessarily 50% brighter in everyday use.
Camera
Both phones pair a 50MP main sensor with a 2MP depth sensor and a 20MP selfie camera. The difference is in the main camera’s hardware. The M7 Pro lists optical image stabilisation and an f/1.5 aperture, which on paper helps with low-light capture and steadier shots and video. POCO’s global M7 Pro page also names a Sony IMX882 sensor and OIS/EIS. The M8 is described as using a Light Fusion 400 sensor, with no OIS stated in the specs reviewed here. Megapixels and marketing names do not settle image quality, so compare real sample photos and stabilised video before treating either as the better camera.

Battery and charging
The M8’s 5520mAh typical capacity is about 8% larger than the M7 Pro’s 5110mAh. Both charge at 45W. The M8 adds up to 18W wired reverse charging, which lets it top up accessories or another phone by cable. Capacity is not runtime, and no like-for-like endurance test is established here, so do not assume the M8 lasts longer. The processor and the brighter, larger screen also affect real-world use.
Durability and storage
POCO states IP66 for the M8 under controlled laboratory conditions, with explicit limits on immersion. That is dust-tight and protected against strong water jets, not waterproof. The global M7 Pro page cites IP64, which is a lower level of water protection than IP66. That figure comes from the global page, not the Malaysia SKU, so confirm the rating for your regional model. Both specification pages describe a hybrid SIM/microSD tray. That means a microSD card may take the place of the second SIM, which matters if you need dual SIM and expandable storage together.

Which should you buy?
- Choose the M7 Pro if the lower price matters most and you want OIS on the main camera. In the India snapshot it cost about one-third less than the M8.
- Choose the M8 if you want the bigger screen, the higher stated brightness, the larger battery, reverse charging and the stronger IP66 rating, and you can justify the extra money.
- Check before paying: exact RAM/storage variant, seller, warranty, local 5G bands and the contents of the box in your country.
