Display: sharper image or larger screen?

The POCO’s 6.67-inch AMOLED panel has a stated resolution of 2400 × 1080, while the Redmi’s larger 6.9-inch display is HD+. That makes the POCO the stronger choice on paper if resolution and AMOLED matter more; the Redmi offers more physical screen area. Both are listed as supporting refresh rates up to 120Hz. Xiaomi India also specifies 800-nit peak brightness for the Redmi. These figures do not establish how either screen looks in everyday use.

Performance: what the chipset details can—and cannot—tell you

The POCO uses a Dimensity 7025-Ultra rated up to 2.5GHz. Xiaomi lists the Redmi’s 6nm T8300 5G as an octa-core processor with two Cortex-A78 cores at 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz. Clock speeds and core descriptions alone do not show which phone will feel faster across apps, games or sustained workloads; the supplied specifications are not independent performance tests.

Cameras: compare hardware, not promised results

POCO lists a 50MP main rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 2MP depth camera and a 20MP front camera. Redmi lists a 32MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The POCO therefore has higher stated resolutions and listed OIS on its main camera, but those hardware figures do not prove better photos or video. Image quality also depends on factors that a specification comparison cannot measure.

Battery and charging: capacity is not a runtime test

Xiaomi lists a 6300mAh typical battery and 15W charging for the Redmi, compared with the POCO’s 5110mAh typical battery and 45W charging. Redmi has the greater nominal capacity; POCO has the higher charging rating. The Redmi also lists 7.5W wired reverse charging. Capacity and charging wattage do not establish actual battery life or charge times, and no comparable endurance test is available here.

Updates

Xiaomi India lists Android 16 with HyperOS 3.0 on the Redmi 15A 5G and states four years of Android updates plus six years of security updates. Xiaomi Global’s surfaced POCO specifications list Xiaomi HyperOS but do not state an update-support duration. That absence is not evidence of a particular POCO support period; check the policy for the model sold in your market.

Protection and connectivity

The POCO page advertises IP64, while Xiaomi India lists IP52 for the Redmi. These are different protection ratings, not interchangeable guarantees; consult each manufacturer’s guidance for what its rating covers. The POCO specifications list NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, a 3.5mm headphone jack and IR blaster. Redmi’s India specifications list Bluetooth 5.4, a 3.5mm jack, dual 5G SIM and microSD expansion up to 2TB. Confirm regional availability and network compatibility before relying on any feature.

India price difference: check the exact variant

A 91mobiles comparison listing crawled about a week before October 5, 2026, showed the POCO M7 Pro 5G at ₹14,999 and the Redmi 15A 5G at ₹16,189—a ₹1,190 higher listing for the Redmi. These are volatile third-party listing prices, not official MSRPs or guaranteed current offers. The comparison does not establish that both prices refer to equivalent RAM and storage configurations. Xiaomi India’s specifications page does not provide a usable retail price in the available information.

Before treating the difference as a value comparison, check the seller’s current price, exact RAM and storage, warranty, and whether the phone is intended for your market. Prices and configurations outside India are not established by this snapshot. See the 91mobiles comparison listing for the observed comparison.

Which phone should you choose?

  • Consider the POCO M7 Pro 5G if its FHD+ AMOLED specification, 45W charging, or listed 50MP OIS main and 20MP front cameras are the more relevant hardware features for you.
  • Consider the Redmi 15A 5G if you prefer a larger display, higher nominal battery capacity, microSD expansion, or Xiaomi India’s stated update-support duration.
  • Compare like-for-like prices only after confirming the exact memory and storage variant, seller and regional model.

These are specification-based trade-offs, not a tested verdict on speed, photo quality, screen performance or battery endurance.
