Where the differences matter
Battery capacity and charging
Xiaomi lists the Redmi’s battery at 6300mAh typical, compared with 6000mAh for the POCO in the cited comparison pages. That capacity difference alone does not show which phone lasts longer in actual use; screen settings, signal conditions, software and workload all affect battery life. Charging figures point the other way: Xiaomi specifies up to 15W for the Redmi, while Gadgets 360 reports 33W for the POCO. Treat the POCO figure as secondary-source data, not an officially confirmed specification.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteCamera resolution
The comparison pages list a 50MP rear camera for the POCO, against Xiaomi’s 32MP f/2.0 specification for the Redmi. A higher megapixel count does not establish better photos: image processing, sensor characteristics and shooting conditions also matter. The cited material does not include comparable camera testing, so it cannot establish which phone takes better pictures.

Display and performance
Both phones are listed with 6.9-inch HD+ displays and refresh rates up to 120Hz. Xiaomi specifies multiple Redmi refresh-rate options and 800-nit peak brightness. The cited POCO comparisons do not establish equivalent brightness or refresh-rate behavior, so those details should not be assumed to match.
The comparison sources list a Dimensity 6300 for the POCO, while Xiaomi specifies a T8300 for the Redmi, including its core layout and GPU. Chip names alone do not establish which phone performs better in apps, gaming or sustained workloads. No independent performance tests are available in the cited sources.
Software support
Xiaomi lists Android 16 and HyperOS 3.0 for the Redmi A7 Pro 5G, with four years of Android updates and six years of security updates. Gadgets 360 lists Android 15 and two years of OS updates for the POCO C85 5G, but that POCO update duration was not confirmed from an official POCO source. Buyers who plan to keep a phone for several years should verify POCO’s current update commitment before purchase.

Before deciding on price, match the Redmi memory configuration to the POCO listing, then check the seller, stock, discounts and offer conditions on the same day. A price comparison between different RAM or storage variants can give a misleading impression of which phone costs less.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the Redmi A7 Pro 5G if Xiaomi’s stated update policy, its larger listed battery capacity, microSD expansion, or the officially specified hardware and connectivity are priorities.
- Consider the POCO C85 5G if a listing confirms the reported 33W charging or 50MP rear camera and those specifications matter to you. Verify the exact model and specifications with POCO or the seller before paying.
- For either phone, compare the same storage tier and current seller price. Available specifications do not provide a sound basis for claiming a winner in real-world battery life, camera quality or performance.
Redmi A7 Pro 5G details worth checking
Xiaomi lists the Redmi in Black, Mist Blue and Sunset Orange. Its India specification page also lists the phone, adapter, USB-C cable, SIM eject tool, quick start guide and warranty card in the package; confirm box contents with the seller because they can vary by market or listing.
Xiaomi’s product page presents a Counterpoint study claim that 37% of issues were resolved for under ₹1,000, compared with an industry average of 28%. This is Xiaomi’s presentation of a 2025 study result; the underlying Counterpoint report was not independently reviewed here. Xiaomi also describes the battery as designed to maintain strong health for up to four years. That is a manufacturer claim, not an independently measured result.
