To join a friend in Plutonium T6 (Call of Duty: Black Ops II) Zombies, both players should follow each other on the Plutonium forums. The host then sets party privacy to open, invites the friend from the in-game friends list, and the guest accepts. If the invite fails, check the steps and network access before the host considers forwarding UDP port 3074.
Join a friend’s Plutonium T6 session
- Follow each other on the Plutonium forums. Both players need to follow one another for their names to appear in the in-game friends list. If they do not appear after following, restart the game.
- Open the host’s party. The host sets party privacy to open with the party-privacy control, identified as

F, selects the friend and sends an invitation. The invited player accepts it. The guide says T6 invitations should generally work out of the box.
These steps are for Plutonium T6, the Black Ops II client. Plutonium documents its other game clients separately; do not assume their controls or connection instructions are identical.

If the invitation does not work
- Confirm that both players mutually follow each other, the host’s party privacy is open, and the guest is accepting the host’s invitation. Restart the game if the friends list has not updated.
- Ask another friend to try inviting the player. This can help determine whether the problem is specific to one connection.
- If the issue continues, check the host’s router and firewall configuration so the game’s connection is not blocked. Do not disable the firewall wholesale.
- For this T6 troubleshooting case, the official guide advises forwarding UDP port
3074on the host’s router, then restarting the game and trying again. Router interfaces differ, so the exact setup steps depend on the router. This is a conditional host-side fallback, not a requirement for every player.
Same network or internet connection?
When all players are on the same local network (LAN), the guide says they can connect using a local IP and do not need port forwarding. For players connecting over the internet, the host may need to address incoming network access. UPnP lets a router open and close ports automatically as services use them; it is different from manually forwarding a port, and it does not work with every network setup.
Private matches are different from public games
A friend’s custom match and a public game are separate destinations. Plutonium’s T6 FAQ says matchmaking is not supported and directs players looking for public games to the server browser. The server browser is not a way to join a friend’s private lobby; use the invite steps above for that.

The FAQ also documents outdated or corrupted game files and mismatched custom-game settings as possible reasons a player cannot join. Check that both players have compatible settings and current client and game files. If the problem persists, consult current official Plutonium support, since an older troubleshooting entry does not establish one cause for every error.
