August 13, 2025 was primarily a digital-games deadline for PlayStation shoppers. Sony’s Summer Sale was scheduled to end that day at 11:59 p.m. PDT, BST, and JST, although individual offers could disappear earlier. The prices below are historical U.S. PlayStation Store listings, not current deals. Console and accessory discounts were retailer-specific and could not be verified from dated evidence for that day.
Sony’s Summer Sale announcement featured games including WWE 2K25, DOOM: The Dark Ages, and Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition. Sony’s announcement also warned that some offers could end before the main deadline.
The August 13 deadline and sale transition
The Summer Sale’s stated cutoff was 11:59 p.m. on August 13 in the regional time zones listed by Sony. That did not guarantee that every product remained discounted until the final minute. Storefront refreshes, product-specific end times and regional differences could remove an offer earlier.
Contemporaneous reports also described a separate Gamescom 2025 promotion beginning August 13. Daily Video Game and MP1st reported selected Gamescom discounts, but those reports should not be treated as a complete Sony-verified catalog. In practice, shoppers could see Summer Sale offers expiring while new Gamescom offers appeared.

Check PlayStation Plus before buying
Sony’s August 13 announcement added Mortal Kombat 1, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Sword of the Sea and Earth Defense Force 6 to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. Premium also received Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. See the official announcement.
Catalog access is a subscription benefit, not permanent ownership. It normally depends on keeping the qualifying PlayStation Plus tier and can end if Sony removes a game. A purchase remains attached to the account, but digital games cannot be resold or lent. If a discounted title was also in the catalog, subscribers should compare the sale price with the value of continuing their tier rather than paying twice for access.

PS4, PS5 and edition checks
Before checkout, open the product page and confirm all of the following:
- Whether the listing is PS4, PS5 or a cross-generation bundle.
- Whether the displayed edition is Standard, Deluxe, Gold, Complete or Ultimate.
- Whether included DLC is useful to you or duplicates content you already own.
- Whether a PS5 upgrade is included or sold separately.
- Whether the price applies to your U.S. PlayStation Network account.
The historical deal index does not establish platform entitlement for every game in the table, so readers should not infer it from the title alone.

What could be verified about consoles
No dated August 13, 2025 price was responsibly verified for a PS5 Disc Edition, PS5 Digital Edition, PS5 Slim, PS5 Pro, bundle, refurbished system or open-box unit. That means this snapshot cannot claim a specific console discount.
For an archival hardware check, compare dated listings from PlayStation Direct, Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Target and GameStop. A current listing or an undated product page is not evidence of the August 13 price. Also separate a genuine markdown from a gift-card promotion, trade-in credit or financing offer.

What could be verified about accessories
No August 13, 2025 price was verified for the DualSense Wireless Controller, DualSense Edge, PULSE Elite headset, PULSE Explore earbuds, HD Camera, Media Remote, Charging Station, console covers or PS5 M.2 storage. These products may have had retailer promotions, but adding an undated price would misrepresent the historical record.
When checking an archived listing, distinguish official PlayStation accessories from licensed third-party products. For controllers and headsets, verify PS5 compatibility, adaptive-trigger and haptics support, wireless method, battery claims and chat features. For an M.2 SSD, check the PS5’s required dimensions, interface, sustained-read performance and heatsink requirements using Sony’s installation guidance. The official accessory catalog is at PlayStation.com.
Quick Recap
How to choose on the final day
- Prioritize expiring offers. Treat August 13 as the Summer Sale deadline, not a promise that every discount lasted all day.
- Compare the exact edition. A large percentage discount may apply to a bundle whose extra content you do not need.
- Check PlayStation Plus. Confirm whether the game is already in your catalog tier or available through a trial.
- Compare physical pricing. Disc owners can resell or lend a physical copy; digital purchases are immediate but account-bound.
- Confirm platform entitlement and storage. Verify PS5 access, download size and any required disc or upgrade.
- Use the checkout price as the final test. Regional storefront rules, earlier product-specific expirations and sale transitions can change what appears.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
