NVIDIA announced on July 11, 2024, that Once Human had joined GeForce NOW, alongside Cricket 24 and Anger Foot. The announcement is historical, not a new 2026 update; check NVIDIA’s current GeForce NOW additions to confirm what is available now.
Which games did NVIDIA add?
NVIDIA’s July 11, 2024 announcement listed these three games and storefronts:

These dates and storefront listings come from NVIDIA’s announcement. Its listing identifies the Steam version of Once Human, not every edition or storefront release.
What kind of game is Once Human?
Once Human is a multiplayer open-world survival game set in a post-apocalyptic world changed by Stardust. Players scavenge, craft, build shelters and bases, fight human and monstrous enemies, and explore the world’s story. It can be played solo or cooperatively. NVIDIA’s announcement describes its survival, crafting, exploration and combat focus.

The game is free-to-play, but that does not make GeForce NOW free in every sense: the game and NVIDIA’s optional cloud-streaming memberships are separate. You do not need to buy a Steam copy to claim a free-to-play game, but you do need access to the supported Steam listing and the account associated with it.
How to launch the Steam version through GeForce NOW
- Sign in to the Steam account you intend to use and add Once Human from its Steam page.
- Open GeForce NOW on a supported device and search its game library for Once Human.
- Select the Steam version, then sign in to the matching Steam account when prompted.
- Complete any additional game or publisher-account authentication requested at launch.
- Wait for the cloud session to load and for any required server-side update to finish.
Menu labels and login prompts can change. Do not assume that a copy or account from another storefront automatically works with the Steam listing; NVIDIA’s 2024 announcement specified Steam.
What GeForce NOW changes—and what it does not
Cloud streaming runs the game on a remote system rather than relying on the player’s device to render it locally. That can make the game accessible on supported lower-powered computers and other devices without a local game installation. NVIDIA describes support across PCs, Macs, Chromebooks, mobile devices, browsers, select smart TVs and SHIELD TV, but device features and availability vary. Streaming does not remove the need for a reliable connection or a supported input method. Network stability and latency affect responsiveness, especially in combat; resolution and frame rate depend on the device, connection and membership conditions. Keyboard and mouse may suit aiming, inventory and building, while a controller can be convenient on mobile or a TV. Neither input setup guarantees a particular experience.

NVIDIA’s July 2024 announcement said Priority and Ultimate members could stream at higher resolutions and frame rates than free members. It cited sessions of up to six hours for Priority and eight hours for Ultimate at that time. Those are historical figures, not a statement of current plan limits. Membership names, queues, session rules, features and prices can change; check NVIDIA’s current membership plans before subscribing.
A subscription is not required to obtain Once Human. Whether paid streaming is worthwhile depends on factors such as queue tolerance, desired session length and image quality, as well as whether your existing device can run the game comfortably. If your connection is unstable or latency is high, cloud access may be a poor fit even if your local hardware is modest.

If GeForce NOW says the game is patching
Live-service updates can require NVIDIA to update or validate the cloud version before it is playable again. Some players reported extended patching and maintenance for Once Human during July–August 2024; those reports describe that period and do not establish a permanent or current problem. See the dated Steam community discussion and GeForce NOW incident record.
- Check GeForce NOW’s current library or service information to see whether the game is still listed or under maintenance.
- Confirm that you selected the Steam version and signed in to the Steam account that has the game in its library.
- If an update or maintenance period is underway, wait for the cloud version to return rather than assuming a local reinstall will fix it.
- If the game launches but account access fails, check the requested Steam and publisher logins; storefront and account mismatches can prevent access.
GeForce NOW availability is not guaranteed indefinitely because of the 2024 announcement. Check the current listing before relying on the service or subscribing for this game.
