The Google Pixel 11 Pro is on sale, starting at $1,099 in the US at launch. It pairs a 6.3-inch display with flagship-level specifications, but early assessments split: TechRadar describes smooth everyday use and generally day-long battery life on its 512GB review unit, while Android Central criticizes the phone’s memory, battery and charging trade-offs. Those impressions are not a substitute for testing every configuration.
What the Pixel 11 Pro is—and what these first impressions show
Google announced that the Pixel 11 phones were available through the Google Store and retail partners on August 25, 2026. The Pixel 11 Pro is the smaller of the two standard Pro models; the Pro XL has a larger screen. The launch announcement listed US starting prices of $899 for Pixel 11, $1,099 for Pixel 11 Pro, $1,299 for Pixel 11 Pro XL and $1,899 for Pixel 11 Pro Fold. These are launch-era starting prices, not a guarantee of current offers. Google’s availability announcement

The evidence behind early impressions comes from different kinds of coverage. Victor Abarca’s August 12 family hands-on was a launch-event first look, not extended testing. TechRadar reports a week of use, specifically on a 512GB model with 16GB of RAM. Android Central offers a more critical review assessment. Keep those distinctions in mind: the hands-on can describe initial experience, while week-long impressions remain one reviewer’s experience with one configuration.
Display and size: the smaller Pro is the key distinction
Google specifies a 6.3-inch (161 mm) Super Actua LTPO OLED panel at 1280 × 2856 resolution and 495 ppi, with a 1–120 Hz refresh rate. The listed cover glass is Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Google’s brightness figures are up to 2,400 nits for HDR and up to 3,600 nits peak; they are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements. Google Pixel phone hardware specifications
#1 Best Overall
- Attention-grabbing design meets the latest evolution of the Google Pixel Camera on the new Google Pixel 11 Pro; Gemini Intelligence helps manage details so you can live in the moment[1]; and the phone is available in two sizes
- Unlocked Android phone gives you the flexibility to change carriers and choose your own data plan: Works with Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and other major carriers[2]
- Stay informed without looking at your screen: When your phone is face down, Pixel HiLight gently alerts you with subtle glowing lights when your favorite contacts are calling or you’re talking with Gemini; exclusive to Google Pixel 11 Pro phones
- Magic Capture catches the moment as you live it: With just one tap, Pixel 11 Pro captures video and photos, and automatically edits, crops, and unblurs a curated collection, ready to share – and you get the memory of how it felt to be in the moment
- Two new cameras for more brilliant photos: A larger telephoto sensor captures 30% more light for clear, beautiful photos and videos, even in the dark[3]; Pixel’s longest zoom ever helps you capture details from impressive distances[4]
The Pixel 11 Pro measures 152.7 × 71.9 × 8.4 mm and weighs 204 g according to Google. The Pro XL’s listed 6.8-inch screen makes it the alternative for readers who prioritize a larger viewing area over the Pro’s more compact footprint. The available evidence does not establish a comparative hands-on verdict on comfort, so the useful choice is straightforward: decide whether the smaller display or extra screen area matters more to you.
Configurations, launch pricing and the RAM trade-off

| Configuration | Memory | Reported launch price |
|---|---|---|
| 256GB storage | 12GB RAM | $1,099 / £1,079 / AU$1,849, as reported by TechRadar |
| 512GB storage | 16GB RAM | $1,219 / £1,199 / AU$2,049, as reported by TechRadar |
TechRadar notes that base storage rose to 256GB while base memory fell compared with the previous Pro generation. Its reviewer tested the 512GB/16GB model, so the positive performance and battery comments from that review do not establish how the 256GB/12GB version behaves. If choosing between them, weigh the extra storage and memory against the price difference; do not assume the higher-memory review experience applies unchanged to the base model.
Battery and charging: specifications are not a runtime test
Google lists a typical battery capacity of 4,850 mAh, with a stated minimum of 4,707 mAh, and estimates 30+ hours of battery life. That runtime is Google’s estimate, not an independently measured result. TechRadar’s reviewer says battery life generally lasted through the day in their use of the 512GB review unit. Android Central, by contrast, criticizes the battery and charging trade-offs. These are different review judgments rather than a controlled head-to-head test; the available evidence does not settle how long the phone will last for a particular person or workload.

Performance, cameras and AI: promising first look, limited evidence
TechRadar reports no issues with daily performance during its week-long use of the 512GB/16GB model. That supports a positive impression for ordinary use on that configuration, but it does not establish demanding-task performance or the behavior of the 12GB model. For a purchasing decision, look for comparisons that test the same configurations and workloads rather than treating a single review as a universal result.
Abarca’s August 12 launch-event hands-on covered the Pixel 11 family, including design, display, cameras, 120× zoom, creator tools, battery and Tensor G6. The description also flags reliance on cloud processing as a caveat. Since this was a brief hands-on rather than extended independent testing, it is best read as an early feature overview, not proof of camera quality, zoom results or sustained performance in everyday use.

Android Central’s review criticizes the addition of AI features alongside what it sees as memory, battery and charging compromises. It also says the included Gemini Pro service period is shorter than before. Treat that subscription point as a review-era assessment: offer terms can change, so confirm the current plan, duration and eligibility with Google before valuing it as part of the purchase.

Both are Pro models, but the clearest established difference in the available specifications is screen size: 6.3 inches for the Pixel 11 Pro and 6.8 inches for the Pro XL. Google’s August 25 launch announcement placed their US starting prices at $1,099 and $1,299 respectively. The Pro is the natural fit if you want the smaller screen and lower launch starting price; choose the XL if the larger display is more important. Current prices and promotions may differ from those launch figures.

Who should consider it—and what to verify first
- Consider the Pro if you want a compact flagship-sized phone and value its 6.3-inch, 1–120 Hz display.
- Compare the XL if you prefer a larger 6.8-inch screen and are willing to pay its higher launch starting price.
- Check the exact configuration before buying: 256GB pairs with 12GB RAM, while 512GB pairs with 16GB RAM in TechRadar’s reporting.
- Check live local pricing and subscription terms. Launch-era prices and a bundled service description do not guarantee today’s offers or eligibility.
- For alternatives in this price class, compare like-for-like tests of everyday speed, demanding tasks, camera and zoom performance, battery runtime, charging, software features and current price. The reviews summarized here do not establish a comparative winner.
