In the United States, their manufacturer-listed starting prices were $799 and $2,099.99 before trade-in, respectively, as observed on October 7, 2026—a $1,300.99 difference between starting figures, not a storage-matched comparison. Choose between them chiefly on whether you want a standard phone or an unfolding screen for multitasking.
How the two phones differ in everyday use
Pixel 10: a standard-size handset
Pixel 10 has a 6.3-inch Actua OLED display in a conventional phone body. Its 1080 × 2424 resolution and 60–120Hz refresh rate suit someone who wants a familiar, single-screen phone rather than a device that unfolds into a larger workspace. Google lists 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage.

Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra: a foldable workspace
Samsung positions the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra as a book-style foldable with a larger inner screen. That format is the core reason to consider it: unfolding gives you more room for multitasking and large-screen tasks. Samsung’s US page describes it as an Ultra performance foldable, but the available evidence does not establish a same-test performance comparison against Pixel 10. Check Samsung’s current local listing for the exact display specifications and storage tier.

These are US manufacturer-listed starting figures, not guaranteed checkout prices. Promotions, stock, tax, and configurations can change; Samsung also displayed promotional offers. Before buying, compare the exact storage capacity, unlocked or carrier status, trade-in terms, and current offer. The price gap buys a different form factor, not a like-for-like spec upgrade.

Specifications that matter beyond the screen
Cameras: compare the systems, not just megapixels
Google lists Pixel 10 with a 48MP wide camera with Macro Focus, a 13MP ultrawide, and a 10.8MP 5x telephoto. Its Super Zoom is listed up to 20x. Samsung Australia’s buying guide lists the Fold8 Ultra with a 200MP wide camera, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. The Samsung figures are from its Australian guide, not a US specification listing. Megapixel counts and zoom labels do not establish which phone takes better pictures; no comparable camera testing is available here.
Battery and charging
Google gives Pixel 10 a typical battery capacity of 4,970mAh and a minimum of 4,835mAh. Google says it can charge to up to 55% in about 30 minutes using a 30W USB-C PPS charger or higher, sold separately; its listed Qi2 wireless charging is up to 15W. Samsung’s US comparison module displays 4,800mAh for the Fold8 Ultra, but capacity alone cannot predict runtime. No comparable battery test establishes which lasts longer, and the available evidence does not confirm Samsung’s charging wattage.

Durability and long-term software support
Google lists IP68 dust and water resistance and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for Pixel 10. Those specifications do not make a phone waterproof or describe every real-world damage risk. The exact local IP rating for the Fold8 Ultra is not established here, so a direct durability comparison would be premature.
Google commits to “7 years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates” for Pixel 10. TechRadar reports a seven-major-Android-upgrade promise for the Fold8 line; that figure is an independent publication’s report, not an official Samsung commitment established by the cited local documentation. Update duration is only one part of long-term ownership: also consider repair options, service availability, and the cost of replacing a damaged device.

Which phone should you choose?
- Choose Pixel 10 if you want a conventional 6.3-inch phone, Google’s camera and software package, and the lower US starting price.
- Choose Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra if the ability to unfold into a larger workspace is important enough to justify a much higher starting price and the foldable format.
- Wait or compare more closely if your decision depends on camera quality, battery endurance, benchmark speed, exact Fold8 Ultra display specifications, or a storage-matched price. The figures above do not settle those questions.
What to verify before ordering
- Open the official product listing for your country and confirm the exact model, storage tier, and current price.
- Check whether the listed price requires a trade-in, carrier activation, or another promotion, and compare the final checkout total including tax.
- Confirm network compatibility and availability through the seller or carrier you plan to use.
- If charging speed affects your choice, check the required charger and supported charging specifications for the exact model; Pixel 10’s stated wired charging figure assumes a compatible 30W USB-C PPS charger or higher, sold separately.
- Review local warranty, repair, and service terms, especially before choosing a foldable.
