Google advertises a higher battery-life estimate for the Pixel 11, but Tom’s Guide measured 12 hours 45 minutes for it, compared with 13 hours 13 minutes for the Pixel 10. That is a 28-minute advantage for the older phone in that test, not proof that every Pixel 10 will outlast every Pixel 11.
What the advertised figures and test results show
| Measure | Pixel 11 | Pixel 10 | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google’s advertised battery life | 30+ hours | 24+ hours | Manufacturer estimates based on a mixed-use profile, not a matched continuous-drain test. (Google Pixel phone hardware specifications) |
| Typical battery capacity | 4,985 mAh | 4,970 mAh | The Pixel 11 has a nominal 15 mAh increase; capacity alone does not establish longer runtime. (Google Pixel phone hardware specifications) |
| Battery-drain test | 12 hours 45 minutes | 13 hours 13 minutes | Tom’s Guide’s reported test lasted 28 minutes longer on the Pixel 10. (Tom’s Guide Pixel 11 review) |
| Listed wired charging | 30W | 30W | The comparison lists the same wired charging wattage. (Tom’s Guide Pixel 11 review) |
| Charge after 30 minutes | 52% | 52% | Tom’s Guide reports the same result for both phones in its comparison. (Tom’s Guide Pixel 11 review) |
The headline figures appear to favor the Pixel 11, while the independent drain-test result favors the Pixel 10. Those numbers answer different questions: Google’s advertised estimate reflects a median-user mix of talk, data, standby, and other feature use; a continuous drain test measures endurance under that publication’s test conditions. They should not be treated as directly interchangeable scores.

Why a 15 mAh increase does not settle the question
Google lists typical capacities of 4,985 mAh for the Pixel 11 and 4,970 mAh for the Pixel 10. That difference is small, and battery capacity is only one factor in how long a phone runs. The result also depends on components, software, network conditions, display use, settings, and the mix of tasks. The capacity figures alone cannot establish that the Pixel 11 lasts longer.

What this means if you are choosing or upgrading
- If battery endurance is your main reason to upgrade: the available head-to-head result does not demonstrate a Pixel 11 advantage. Do not count on a clear increase in time between charges based on these figures alone.
- If you are comparing the advertised claims: Google’s 30+ hours for the Pixel 11 and 24+ hours for the Pixel 10 are estimates, not a controlled comparison of identical use.
- If charging speed matters more than runtime: the cited comparison lists 30W wired charging for each and reports 52% after 30 minutes for both; it shows no advantage for the Pixel 11 on those measures.
Google cautions that battery life depends on many factors, that some features reduce it, and that actual battery life may be lower. Its specifications describe an estimate based on a median-use profile across talk, data, standby, and other feature use; the company also notes testing on a major US carrier network and pre-production hardware and software in at least some published methodology. Your daily result can differ from both the advertised estimate and a review test.

Tom’s Guide’s result is evidence about that publication’s test, not a universal prediction for every owner. Android Central also discusses the capacity and claim context, but its article said actual testing was still needed at publication, so it is not an independent measured result to substitute for the Tom’s Guide comparison.
