Philips describes the basket as suitable for 800 g of fries. That capacity is compact, so it may suit smaller batches better than cooking for a crowd; the right amount depends on the food and how much each person eats. If you regularly prepare larger portions, compare usable basket area and batch size with the amount you actually cook rather than relying on a generalized serving count.

How the controls and presets work
The QuickControl dial handles settings: turn it to choose a temperature, click, turn again to set the cooking time, then click to start. The four presets cover frozen fries, meat, fish and drumsticks. Philips also lists a ready signal, temperature control, automatic shut-off, keep-warm function and non-slip feet.
Philips says the appliance needs no preheating and can fry, grill, bake and roast. Those are manufacturer descriptions; the sheets do not provide independent timing or outcome tests. The included grill pan supports the appliance’s grill function, but the documentation does not establish compatibility for separately sold accessories.

Cleaning and construction
The drawer and food basket have non-stick coatings and are described as dishwasher safe. Philips also lists a removable non-stick mesh. The product sheets promote QuickClean as “Easy clean in 90 secs”; this is a manufacturer headline, not a verified cleaning-time result. The body is listed as plastic, with a black-and-silver finish.

Philips says TurboStar cooks food “50% more evenly” than an Airfryer without TurboStar. The stated comparison is specifically against an Airfryer without TurboStar, and Philips’ sheets are not independent comparative testing. The claim should not be read as proof that this model cooks more evenly than every other air fryer.

Philips also claims “up to 80% less fat” for fries compared with fresh fries prepared in a conventional Philips fryer. That comparison does not establish an 80% reduction against every cooking method, and it is not an independently measured nutrition result. Philips describes TurboStar as generating fast superheated air to fry food with little to no added oil; actual results depend on the food and preparation.

The listed 220 V rating is a key compatibility check. Confirm the rating plate and the exact seller listing for the HD9643/17 variant; do not assume every model in the HD9643 family has the same electrical supply rating. Also check that a local outlet and supply are suitable before use.
