The four Round 2 matchups
Team Deathmatch or Battle Royale?
This matchup contrasts compact, team-based combat with large-scale survival. Team Slayer is a Halo name for a Team Deathmatch-style mode, though games can implement these formats differently.

Conquest represents broad warfare and control across a battlefield; Bomb Defusal focuses on a competitive objective. Related names and examples cited by PC Gamer include Warfare in Hell Let Loose, Bomb in Rainbow Six Siege, and Plant/Defuse in Valorant. These labels do not mean the modes play identically across games.

Payload or Infection?
PC Gamer frames both as unusual asymmetric formats that rely on players staying together. The pairing asks which style makes for the more appealing team experience.
Capture the Flag or Attack & Defend?
Capture the Flag, commonly shortened to CTF, pits teams against each other over flag objectives. Attack & Defend covers objective formats in which one side attacks while the other defends; PC Gamer points to 2CP in Overwatch and Breakthrough in Battlefield as examples, not interchangeable rule sets.

What the bracket can—and cannot—settle
This is a reader poll, not a controlled comparison of game modes. At the time of PC Gamer’s October 8, 2026 report, the Round 2 winner and later bracket results had not yet been established.
