What Paymentology and Huru announced
The companies said they had expanded their longstanding partnership to support Huru’s planned Jaywan card. Paymentology is to supply the processing technology, while Huru will broaden its services for customers in the UAE. The announcement sets a Q4 2026 target but gives no exact launch date or application process. Paymentology’s announcement, 12 October 2026.

Huru describes its Universal Account as an individual IBAN-based account connected to the customer rather than to a particular employer. According to Huru, that means customers can keep the same account when they change jobs, rather than repeatedly changing their salary arrangements.
Huru lists salary receipt, domestic and international payments, overseas remittances, mobile top-ups, savings goals and use of a Huru card among its app functions. The company says the platform is available in seven languages. These are descriptions of Huru’s platform; the announcement does not detail how each function will work with the planned card.

What Jaywan adds—and what it does not confirm about Huru’s card
Jaywan is the UAE’s domestic card scheme. Al Etihad Payments said nationwide issuance officially commenced on 20 July 2026 through banks, licensed financial institutions and exchange houses. Its announcement describes scheme-wide acceptance at point-of-sale terminals, e-commerce platforms, ATMs and digital wallets, including contactless transactions, online purchases and cash withdrawals, subject to applicable rules and regulations. Those scheme-wide capabilities do not establish which functions, acceptance arrangements or card configuration Huru’s planned card will have. The October announcement does not say whether the Huru card will be debit, prepaid or credit; mono-badge or co-badged; physical or virtual; or connected to an international network. It also does not confirm digital-wallet support.

Jaywan card formats described in earlier scheme announcements
In February 2025, the Central Bank of the UAE and Al Etihad Payments described debit, prepaid and credit options, alongside basic and premium tiers. They also described mono-badge cards for local and GCC use and co-badged cards intended to support use through international networks. The release named agreements with Discover, Mastercard, Visa and UnionPay, and discussed then-planned wallet and international usability steps. A later CBUAE notice, dated 9 October 2025, said licensed institutions would offer debit, prepaid and credit formats, either mono-badge or co-badged with international schemes. The issuing institution and applicable rules determine what a particular card offers. CBUAE notice, 9 October 2025.

What Huru and Paymentology say about the platform’s scale
Paymentology’s announcement reports AED 3 billion in annualised salary flows through Huru’s platform, more than 24,000 employers using it and relationships with nine exchange houses. The company also sets a target of approximately one million accounts over the coming year. These are company-reported operating figures; the one-million figure is a target, not an achieved account count, and the announcement does not provide independent market-wide adoption data.

The announcement does not state Huru card fees, eligibility, application steps, the precise launch day, the card’s physical or virtual form, its international-network partner or its digital-wallet arrangements. Those details should not be assumed from Jaywan’s broader scheme announcements. Customers considering the account or card will need Huru’s current terms and product information to assess availability and features.
