A nationwide goods-transporters’ strike in Pakistan from October 10, 2026, is not confirmed as inevitable. The All-Pakistan Goods Transporters Association announced a conditional wheel-jam strike after an October 2 meeting, but Suno News reported on October 1 that talks had postponed the action until October 15. The two reports leave the immediate timetable disputed.
Is the goods transporters’ strike happening on October 10?
As of October 2, the association’s October 10 strike threat remained conditional: it said the action would go ahead if its demands were not accepted. ProPakistani reported the decision after a Lahore meeting chaired by association president Nabeel Mahmood Tariq; ARY News also reported an ultimatum for a countrywide strike if concerns were not addressed before October 10.
There is a conflicting account. Suno News reported on October 1 that talks with Punjab Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan had led transporters to postpone the nationwide strike until October 15. It said transport would continue temporarily while negotiations remained open. The available reports do not establish whether a later agreement resolved the disagreement or changed either date.

These demands were reported by ProPakistani and ARY News. Suno News’ account of the October 1 talks separately cited assurances concerning a 35-ton limit for 10-wheelers, the release of stopped vehicles and compensation.

The strike announcement came from the All-Pakistan Goods Transporters Association. ProPakistani named association president Nabeel Mahmood Tariq as chair of the October 2 Lahore meeting and listed senior vice president Haji Irfan Sultan and vice president Mumtaz Ali Khan among the participants. Suno News identified Punjab Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan and transporter representative Malik Shehzad Awan in its report on the negotiations.

If a nationwide wheel-jam action proceeds, commercial goods moving by road across Pakistan could be disrupted. Intercity deliveries and supply chains that depend on trucks may face delays while vehicles are stopped. The reports do not quantify the likely duration or scale of any disruption, and the postponement account says goods transport was continuing temporarily during negotiations.
For a shipment due around either date, check directly with the carrier, supplier or recipient for dispatch and delivery updates. The reports establish a threatened nationwide action and a conflicting postponement account; they do not confirm a specific delivery impact for any company, route or parcel.
