To stream music from a phone to a Denon, select Bluetooth on the Denon, put it in pairing mode if needed, then choose the Denon entry in the phone’s Bluetooth settings and start playback on the phone. The button sequence and available Bluetooth features depend on the exact Denon model, so check its owner’s manual before following a model-specific step.
Before you pair: identify the Denon model and Bluetooth role
Find the model number on the unit or its documentation, then use that model’s Denon owner’s manual. A Bluetooth receiver accepts audio from a phone or other source; Bluetooth headphone listening is a different function and is not available on every Denon product. For example, the AVR-S970H manual lists Bluetooth-source playback and headphone listening separately. Do not assume a receiver supports both roles—or that every Denon product accepts Bluetooth audio.

- Select Bluetooth on the Denon. On the AVR-S570BT, press the Bluetooth button to switch to the Bluetooth input. On the DHT-S218 soundbar, turn it on and switch its input to Bluetooth.
- Enter pairing mode if the Denon requires it. The AVR-X510BT enters pairing mode automatically the first time Bluetooth is selected. To pair another device with that model, hold Bluetooth for about three seconds or choose Pairing Mode from its options menu. On the DHT-S218, hold the Bluetooth control for three seconds to pair an additional device; its status LED blinks blue in pairing mode.
- Open Bluetooth settings on the phone or source. Turn on Bluetooth, scan for nearby devices, and select the Denon name shown in the list. For the AVR-S570BT, Denon recommends pairing within about 1 meter while the pairing display is shown. If a matching-number confirmation appears, follow the prompts on both devices.
- Enter a password only if prompted. The AVR-X510BT manual says to enter
0000if the source requests a password. This instruction is specific to that model; do not assume the same PIN applies to other Denon products. - Play audio from the source. Once connected, start music or other audio in an app on the phone or source device.
Reconnect or switch to a different source
After initial pairing, the AVR-S570BT manual says the device does not need to be paired again. Selecting Bluetooth on that receiver reconnects the last paired device. The AVR-X2700H manual describes another reconnection method: select the Denon from the source device’s Bluetooth list. To switch source devices on the AVR-X2700H, disconnect the currently connected device first.

These reconnection details are model-specific. If a different Denon does not reconnect the same way, follow that unit’s manual rather than repeating another model’s button sequence.
DHT-S218: standard Bluetooth or LE Audio
The DHT-S218 presents standard Bluetooth and Bluetooth LE Audio as separate connection choices. For standard Bluetooth, select Denon DHT-S218 in the source device’s list. To use LE Audio, select LE-Denon DHT-S218 if the source supports it.

- Denon’s DHT-S218 manual says iPhone does not support Bluetooth LE Audio.
- For an Android smartphone, the manual specifies Android 13 or later for LE Audio.
- A new Bluetooth device cannot be paired while LE Audio is connected. Disconnect the LE Audio connection before pairing another device.
- If the source cannot connect using LE Audio, Denon recommends selecting the standard
Denon DHT-S218entry instead.
These compatibility notes apply to the DHT-S218 and the conditions stated in its manual; they should not be generalized to other Denon models.

Fix common Denon Bluetooth connection problems
The Denon does not appear in the device list
- Confirm Bluetooth is selected on the Denon and that it is in pairing mode if the model requires it.
- Bring the source close to the unit while pairing.
- Check whether another device is already connected. On the DHT-S218, only one Bluetooth device can be connected at a time.
The phone says connected, but there is no sound
- Check that the Denon’s Bluetooth input is selected.
- Start playback on the phone or other source device.
- Check volume and mute on both the Denon and the source.
Pairing fails or sound drops out
For the DHT-S218, Denon recommends checking that Bluetooth is enabled on the source and selecting the soundbar from the source’s device list. If connection problems continue, move the devices closer, restart the source, clear the old pairing information, and pair again. If audio drops out, reduce obstacles between the devices and move away from nearby sources of interference. Owners of other Denon models should consult their own manuals for model-specific troubleshooting.
