Download Logitech Unifying Software from Logitech’s official Software Downloads page, then open it and follow the pairing prompts. Logitech says the software is no longer supported or maintained, so check whether your device and operating system are supported by Logi Options+ before choosing that newer app instead.
Before installing, check that your device can use a Unifying receiver
Look for the Unifying logo on both the Logitech device and its receiver. Logitech’s guidance says a device bearing that logo can connect to any Unifying receiver, and one receiver can pair with up to six Unifying devices. These compatibility instructions apply to Unifying-marked hardware; a receiver without the logo is not established as compatible by that guidance. See Logitech’s receiver connection instructions.

You do not need to buy a receiver just to install the software. If you are replacing or switching receivers, Logitech says to reconnect the device using Unifying Software. The replacement receiver must be a Unifying receiver.
Download and open Logitech Unifying Software
- Go to Logitech’s official Software Downloads page to check availability and download the software. Avoid unofficial installer sites.
- Launch the installed program. On Windows, open Start > Programs > Logitech > Unifying > Logitech Unifying Software. On Mac, open Applications/Utilities/Logitech Unifying Software. Logitech notes that Mac screens may look slightly different.
- On the Welcome screen, click Next. When prompted, turn the keyboard or mouse off and then back on.
- When the software detects the device, test it in the window: type in the provided field for a keyboard or move the mouse. Confirm that it works, then finish the setup.
These are Logitech’s documented steps, but its reviewed support pages do not state the latest installer version or list supported Windows and macOS releases by version. Check the official download and support pages for current availability rather than assuming an installer will work with every operating-system release.

If pairing does not work
- Confirm that both the device and receiver have the Unifying logo.
- Repeat the on-screen off-and-on step, wait briefly for detection, and restart the pairing process if needed. Logitech’s pairing instructions describe these troubleshooting steps.
- If you changed receivers, run Unifying Software and reconnect the device to the new Unifying receiver.
Should you use Unifying Software or Logi Options+?
Logitech states that Unifying Software is no longer supported or maintained. For a supported mouse or keyboard on a supported operating-system version, Logitech recommends Logi Options+. Check Logitech’s current compatibility information for your specific device and OS; the available support pages do not establish a complete compatibility list for either path. If your immediate task is pairing Unifying hardware, the legacy software’s documented steps above are the relevant instructions, but its support status means compatibility with newer systems is not assured.
