In manual mode, organizing blog posts takes two steps: assign categories to posts, then choose which categories each blog section displays. You can create categories in Blog management, assign one or more to each post, and filter separate sections independently.

Create blog categories

  1. In the editor, expand the Blog management panel on the left.

  3. Enter a category title and select the checkmark to save it. The help documentation says this workflow allows an unlimited number of categories.

Assign categories to posts

  1. Find the post in the left-side Blog management panel and open its ellipsis menu.

  2. Choose Post settings, then open Categories.

  3. Select the category or categories for the post, then save. The help documentation states: “One blog post can be assigned to multiple categories.”

Choose which categories each blog section displays

Categories do not automatically create separate lists. Add a blog section to each page or location where you want posts to appear, then set that section’s category filter.

Update the website

After changing categories or section filters, update the website so the changes appear online. If expected posts are missing, check that a blog section has been added to the page where you want them to appear, then verify that its category filter includes those posts’ categories.
