The Optimum G2.3 Platinum Series is a high-performance blender associated with Froothie. CHOICE’s product page marks it as a “Discontinued model,” so a price shown on a product page should not be treated as a current offer or proof of stock. Can the G2.3 make hot soup in eight minutes?
Eb Gargano of Easy Peasy Foodie describes making chickpea and vegetable soup using the soup preset and says it was smooth and hot at the end of the cycle. Her post also describes using the blender for smoothies, dips, cauliflower rice, pancake batter and grinding nuts. Gargano disclosed that she had been invited to Froothie’s ambassador team and that her post contained affiliate links. Her account is useful as an individual use report, but it is not an independent lab test or a guarantee that every recipe will be ready in eight minutes.

The listed controls are eight speeds and five preset programs. Froothie’s product page describes functions for smoothies, sorbet, fruit and vegetables, soup and grinding, with manual adjustment also available. Those are seller-provided descriptions, not independent evidence of how well the blender performs each task.

Two jug sizes
The 2 L and 1 L rotating jugs give the machine options for larger batches and smaller quantities. One ProductReview.com.au owner specifically praised the 1 L jug for thick mixtures such as nut butter and hummus. That is one user’s experience; it does not establish that the smaller jug is suitable for every dense recipe or that replacement jugs are currently available.
What owners report—and what that evidence can tell you
Owner experience is not uniform. One detailed ProductReview.com.au account says the blender ran more slowly than expected and describes error shutdowns when thick ingredients did not feed down. The same owner raised concerns about the jug lid and rubber coupling. These are anecdotal observations from one user, not a systematic test or evidence of a confirmed defect rate. Check the particular unit carefully, especially if you plan to blend thick mixtures.

Is the Optimum G2.3 worth buying?
It may suit someone who wants both a large and a smaller jug, preset programs and manual speed control, and who can verify the condition of a specific unit. The evidence here does not support calling it a top performer: CHOICE’s comparative scores are not publicly visible, seller testimonials are not independent tests, and the available owner account raises concerns relevant to thick blends.

- Confirm the listing is for the Optimum G2.3 Platinum Series, not a different Optimum model.
- Verify whether both the 1 L rotating and 2 L jugs are included, and inspect them for damage.
- Ask the seller to demonstrate the controls and check the lid and coupling, particularly if buying used.
- Confirm in writing the warranty, return terms and available support for that specific unit.
- For any replacement jug or accessory, require explicit G2.3 compatibility; generic blender parts should not be assumed to fit.
