DxOMark gave it an overall camera score of 157, including 160 for photo and 151 for video. Its clearest tested weakness is reduced fine detail when zooming during video. Treat the score as a result from DxOMark’s camera protocol version 5—not a directly comparable ranking against phones tested under version 6.
DxOMark’s Find X8 Pro camera scores
| Category | Score | What it indicates |
|---|---|---|
| Overall camera | 157 | DxOMark’s aggregate camera result for this test |
| Photo | 160 | Still photography is stronger than video in this evaluation |
| Video | 151 | A high sub-score, but the weaker of the two main capture categories |
| Zoom | 155 | Performance across zoom shooting, supported by two dedicated telephoto cameras |
| Bokeh | 75 | A separate score for simulated background blur |
| Preview | 78 | A separate score for how the camera preview represents the eventual capture |
DxOMark’s page identifies this as a 2025 evaluation using Camera test protocol version 5. DxOMark warns that version-5 results are not directly comparable with results from its newer version 6. The page currently displays the phone at 15th in both the global and Ultra-Premium camera rankings, but those live positions can change as products are added. The 157 score and protocol qualification are more useful than treating a rank as permanent. See DxOMark’s Find X8 Pro test and protocol note.
Four 50MP rear cameras, with two real telephoto options
The India/global configuration described by OPPO has four 50-megapixel rear cameras, but the sensors and optics are not interchangeable. Its dedicated 3× and 6× telephoto cameras provide useful native perspectives for portraits, travel details, and subjects that are too far away to approach. They reduce the need to crop heavily from the main camera at those focal lengths; zoom between or beyond native camera positions still relies on computational processing and, at the extremes, digital zoom.
| Camera | Sensor and aperture | Stabilization/focus | Practical role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main, wide | Sony LYT-808, 50MP, f/1.6 | Optical image stabilization | Everyday scenes and the strongest starting point in dim light |
| Ultrawide | Samsung JN5, 50MP, f/2.0 | Autofocus | Landscapes, architecture, and close subjects when a wider view helps |
| 3× telephoto | Sony LYT-600, 50MP, f/2.6 | Optical image stabilization | Portrait framing and medium-distance subjects |
| 6× periscope telephoto | Sony IMX858, 50MP, f/4.3 | Optical image stabilization | Distant details, travel scenes, and stage subjects |
The front camera is a 32MP Sony IMX615. Sensor and specification details are from OPPO’s India launch information and specification page; configurations and features can vary by market. OPPO’s India launch announcement and India specifications provide the regional details. OPPO advertises a 0.6×–120× zoom range, but that headline range should not be mistaken for optical zoom throughout: the dedicated optical coverage is provided by the separate camera modules, while other steps use processing or digital magnification. OPPO’s product page describes its zoom and AI features.

How the camera performs in practical shooting
Daylight and high-contrast scenes
Independent hands-on coverage describes the four rear cameras as consistent and the default camera mode as capable of producing good results without constantly switching modes. That makes the system useful for travel and everyday shooting: move from a broad landscape to a tighter subject without depending on one camera alone. As with any multi-camera phone, inspect exposure, color, and texture when changing lenses; a shared 50MP resolution does not make the modules optically identical. TechRadar’s review praises the system’s versatility and night photography.
Portraits and people
The 3× camera offers a natural working distance for portraits and can avoid the exaggerated perspective that comes from holding a phone very close. Portrait mode’s simulated blur is a separate matter: DxOMark’s bokeh score is 75, not a hardware specification or a guarantee that hair, glasses, fingers, and other fine edges will always be separated perfectly. For people in mixed light, check skin rendering and moving-subject sharpness in the actual image rather than assuming that a high overall score settles those preferences.
Night photography
Low-light still photography is one of the phone’s strengths in DxOMark’s assessment, and TechRadar found the default photo mode reliable in night scenes. The fast f/1.6 main camera is the most sensible starting point when light is scarce. Do not assume the ultrawide or f/4.3 6× periscope performs identically after dark: their optics differ, and distant or moving subjects can still show noise, softness, or motion blur. Night mode can help with static scenes and difficult exposure, but it cannot freeze movement; compare a normal capture with night mode when people or traffic are moving.

Zoom and ultrawide
The two telephotos are the defining practical advantage. At approximately 3×, the phone has a dedicated portrait and medium-distance camera; at 6×, a periscope module gives a tighter native view for details across a street or on a distant subject. The ultrawide is also a usable camera rather than merely a token extra lens, according to TechRadar’s hands-on assessment. Between the optical positions, or past them, the phone blends and crops computationally, so image consistency can change with focal length. OPPO’s AI Telescope Zoom and AI Photo Remaster are manufacturer features, not proof that AI-enhanced detail is equivalent to optical capture.

Video is capable, but zooming is the caveat
The video score of 151 is lower than the photo score of 160. DxOMark specifically reports a lack of fine detail in videos when zooming. That matters for concerts, sports, and travel clips where a viewer might expect a zoom-in to preserve detail: the dual telephotos are valuable for still framing, but do not erase the tested softness concern during video zoom. If detail matters, choose a native camera view before recording and avoid zooming mid-clip when possible.
OPPO’s India specification page lists rear video modes including 4K at 30 or 60 frames per second, 1080p at 30 or 60fps, 720p at 30fps, and slow motion up to 1080p at 240fps. It also lists Dolby Vision recording up to 4K/60fps under supported conditions, EIS/OIS support, and dual-view video at 1080p/30fps. These are specifications for the listed regional model and software; do not assume every mode is enabled identically on every regional firmware. The published DxOMark result supports the zoom-detail caveat, but the available evidence does not establish a universal verdict on walking stabilization, wind handling, or autofocus tracking across all modes.

What the DxOMark score can—and cannot—tell you
A standardized score is useful for understanding performance under a defined test system, not for declaring one camera phone best for every person. DxOMark’s 157 reflects its version-5 evaluation; because version 6 is not directly comparable, a table combining scores from the two protocols can imply a precision the numbers do not support. Earlier reporting placed the Find X8 Pro fourth when its result first appeared, while its current DxOMark page shows a different position. Neither rank is a timeless statement about the best phone to buy today. The historical ranking report illustrates why dated rankings should be labeled as such.
- The score does not determine which color treatment or skin tones you will prefer.
- It does not guarantee the camera will catch a running child, pet, or athlete without blur.
- It does not establish how images will look after a particular social app recompresses them.
- It cannot tell you whether a later ColorOS update changes your preferred processing or feature availability.
- It says nothing about local network compatibility, warranty, or repair access for an imported phone.
Use the score to identify a strong, balanced camera system, then weigh your own priorities: still photos and native zoom favor this phone; zoomed video detail is the documented compromise.
Availability and buying advice, especially for U.S. readers
Market support is a major part of the decision. TechRadar reported that the phone was not available in the United States at launch, while launch availability included the UK and Australia. Its reported launch prices were £1,049 and AU$1,799 respectively; these are historical launch figures, not current prices. OPPO India’s store lists the 16GB/512GB model at ₹99,999 against ₹109,999, but that is an India-specific listing and the displayed reduction may change. TechRadar’s review and the OPPO India store show the cited market context.

No current official U.S. OPPO listing or price is established here, so a U.S. buyer should not treat marketplace availability as domestic support. Before importing, verify the exact model number—OPPO’s India specification page identifies CPH2659—and check carrier bands and features with the carrier and seller. Confirm written warranty coverage, return terms, taxes, shipping, charger compatibility, and whether the region’s software supports the services you rely on, including eSIM, Android Auto, and contactless payments. Regional software can also affect camera and AI functions; OPPO notes that functions and release timing vary by region and software version.
- Good fit: You want strong stills, portraits, low-light photography, and real 3× and 6× telephoto options, and can buy an officially supported configuration.
- Look elsewhere: Video zoom detail is your priority, or you need a small phone, domestic U.S. warranty, or guaranteed carrier compatibility.
- For import buyers: Include the cost and risk of support and returns in the purchase decision; do not compare an import price directly with a local official price.
TechRadar also criticized the quantity of preinstalled software and described the Quick Button as occasionally buggy; those are that reviewer’s usability observations, not DxOMark camera findings. They may matter if you want a simple camera interface or dislike extra software.
Who should choose the Find X8 Pro?
Choose it for a flexible still-photo camera system that can move from ultrawide to two dedicated telephoto views, with strong low-light results and a capable default shooting experience. Choose another phone if video zoom is central to your work, if you prioritize a particular rendering style over versatility, or if regional support matters more than camera hardware. The DxOMark score is meaningful evidence of strong performance under its version-5 protocol; it is not, by itself, a reason to import or a promise that every camera use case will suit you.
