To use an onn. projector, set it on a stable surface facing a blank wall or screen, connect a video source using an input your model supports, select that input, then adjust focus and keystone until the picture is sharp and rectangular. The exact ports, controls, smart features, and included accessories vary by model, so check the label on the projector or box and use the instructions for that specific unit.
Set up the projector
- Position it. Place the projector on a stable surface and aim it at the wall or screen you want to use. Leave enough room to adjust its position and image.
- Connect power and a video source. Use a connection supported by your projector and source device. If you are using HDMI, connect the cable to an available HDMI input and to the source, such as a compatible streaming device or computer.
- Select the source. Open the projector’s source or input controls and choose the input matching the port you used, such as the corresponding HDMI input. Button names and menus differ by model.
- Make the picture clear and square. Adjust focus until details look sharp. If the image is wider at one end or otherwise distorted, use the projector’s keystone controls if available. Moving the projector to face the screen more directly can also help.
For example, Walmart’s listing for onn. model 100096801 describes two HDMI inputs, an included 6-foot HDMI cable, and vertical keystone correction of ±15°. These are listing details for that model, not features to assume on every onn. projector.

Connect a phone
A phone can connect only if the phone, any adapter, and the projector all support the same video-output method. Walmart’s general projector guidance describes three possibilities, but none is guaranteed for every combination:

Check the manuals for both devices before buying an adapter or relying on wireless mirroring. If the phone’s picture does not appear, test with a known-compatible HDMI source if one is available; that can help determine whether the issue is the phone connection or the projector input.

Use streaming features where included
Some onn. projector packages include a streaming device, while others rely on a source connected separately. Walmart Business lists onn. model 100010682 as bundled with a Roku Streaming Stick; this does not mean a stick is built into or included with every onn. projector. If your model has an available HDMI input and its package did not include a streaming device, a compatible HDMI streaming device is one option.
For Roku smart-projector models, follow the on-screen guided setup, including Wi-Fi setup. Roku’s projector instructions describe starting auto-focus or auto-keystone and adjusting the image through projector settings. Those Roku-specific menu steps do not apply universally to non-Roku onn. models.

Fix common picture problems
The picture is blurry
Adjust the focus control. On Roku smart-projector models, Roku documents a Start auto-focus option and manual focus under Settings > Projector Settings. Other models may use different controls.

The image looks slanted or trapezoidal
Use keystone correction if your projector provides it. Roku smart-projector models document auto-keystone and manual corner correction; the controls on other onn. models may differ. Re-aiming the projector more directly at the screen may also help.

A connected source shows no picture
Check that the cable is fully connected and that the selected input matches the port in use. If the source or port is not supported by your particular model, changing the input will not resolve the mismatch.
Phone video does not appear
Verify video-output support for the phone and adapter, as well as support for that input method on the projector. Do not assume that charging over USB means USB video is supported, or that wireless mirroring is available.

Package contents and specifications can differ across onn. projectors. Walmart Business lists model 100010682 with a stated image size of 36–150 inches and projection distance of 4.5–16.5 feet; those are retailer listing claims for that model, not independent test measurements or universal setup targets. Check the product details and instructions for your exact unit before choosing a screen, cable, or streaming device.

Model 100096801’s Walmart listing says a 6-foot HDMI cable is included. A replacement or longer cable is relevant if the supplied cable is missing, damaged, or too short for your setup; otherwise, first check what came in your box.
