The OnePlus Nord 5 is the stronger fit if you want a faster-refreshing, higher-resolution display, a larger stated battery and faster wired charging. Samsung’s Galaxy A57 5G offers a dedicated ultra-wide and macro rear camera, an IP68 rating and a longer stated Android-upgrade commitment. Their listed prices—₹33,999 in India for the Nord 5 and $549.99 in the US for the A57—are from different markets, so they do not show a like-for-like price difference.

Which phone has the better display?
OnePlus Nord 5: higher refresh rate and resolution
OnePlus advertises a 1.5K AMOLED display with a maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz on its India product page. That combination may appeal if you prioritize smooth scrolling and gaming or prefer a sharper-than-FHD+ resolution. The listed specification does not by itself establish how bright or color-accurate the panel looks in everyday use.

Galaxy A57 5G: larger stated screen size
Samsung lists a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED+ display with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Its published information gives the A57 a clear screen-size specification; the OnePlus India page cited here does not provide a screen size for a direct comparison. The Nord 5 has the higher maximum refresh rate and resolution on the cited listings, but those figures alone cannot determine which screen you will prefer.

Which phone has the better battery and charging?
The Nord 5 has the larger stated battery capacity: OnePlus lists 6,800 mAh and 80W wired charging for India. Samsung lists a 5,000 mAh typical battery for the A57; its Gulf product page gives a rated minimum of 4,905 mAh. Samsung says the A57’s Super Fast Charging 2.0 can reach up to 60% in about 30 minutes. In the US announcement, Samsung says the charger is sold separately.
Capacity and charging specifications are not a direct measure of how long a phone lasts or how quickly it charges in every situation. Samsung cites an independent UX Connect Research assessment conducted in the UK from January 8 to January 18, 2026, using pre-release SM-A576 units on default settings over LTE and 5G Sub6; 5G mmWave was not tested. Samsung notes that battery life varies with network, apps and usage. Its “2 days” headline should not be treated as a guaranteed result, and that assessment does not compare the A57 with the Nord 5.
How do the cameras differ?
Samsung lists three rear cameras: a 50 MP wide, 12 MP ultra-wide and 5 MP macro, alongside a 12 MP front camera. The ultra-wide provides a distinct wider framing option, while the macro camera is intended for close-up subjects. Samsung’s Gulf page also states optical image stabilization.
OnePlus advertises 50 MP front and rear cameras, low-light features and 4K video recording at 60 frames per second. Those advertised specifications do not establish that its images are better than Samsung’s, or vice versa. Megapixel counts cannot substitute for sample photos, stabilization comparisons or testing in the lighting and video conditions you care about. No controlled head-to-head camera test is established by the cited sources.
Which phone is better protected against water and dust?
Samsung states that the Galaxy A57 5G is IP68-rated. Its product information describes a lab rating of up to 1.5 m in fresh water for up to 30 minutes and cautions that resistance may diminish over time. This is not a promise that the phone is waterproof or protected in every exposure. The cited OnePlus India product information does not establish an IP rating for the Nord 5, so it would be misleading to claim the A57 is definitively more resistant in every real-world situation based only on this comparison.

Which phone has longer software support?
Samsung advertises up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates for the A57 in its US announcement. OnePlus advertises four Android version upgrades and six years of security updates for the Nord 5. On the stated commitments, Samsung offers two more generations of major Android upgrades, while both manufacturers advertise six years of security updates. Samsung says update availability and timing can vary by model and market; check the support terms that apply to the specific regional model before buying.
What is the price difference?
The official listings cited here are not a same-market comparison. OnePlus India displays the Nord 5 from ₹33,999. Samsung’s US announcement gives the Galaxy A57 5G a starting price of $549.99 unlocked and says US availability begins April 9, 2026. These amounts are in different currencies, apply to different markets and may not represent equivalent storage configurations or current retailer offers. Subtracting or converting them would not produce a defensible price gap.

To compare what you would actually pay, use listings for the same country and equivalent memory and storage tiers, and check the seller, date, availability and any carrier restrictions. Do not apply the US launch price to Samsung’s Gulf-listed 8 GB/128 GB model or assume that a launch price remains a live offer.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose the OnePlus Nord 5 if the India-listed 1.5K, 144 Hz display, 6,800 mAh stated capacity, 80W charging, 50 MP front camera or advertised 4K 60 fps video are your priorities.
- Choose the Galaxy A57 5G if you want a dedicated ultra-wide and macro rear camera, Samsung’s stated IP68 rating, a specified 6.7-inch display or the longer advertised Android-upgrade commitment.
- Compare local prices before deciding if cost is the deciding factor: the ₹33,999 Nord 5 price and $549.99 A57 price refer to India and the US respectively, not equivalent offers.
For exact regional specifications and terms, consult the OnePlus Nord 5 India product page, Samsung’s US announcement and Samsung Gulf’s Galaxy A57 product page.
