OPPO announced ColorOS 17 on September 24, 2026, and named OnePlus among the brands expected to receive it globally. Separately, OPPO lists the OnePlus 15 for an Android 17 developer preview. That preview is not identified as a ColorOS 17 open beta.
Is the ColorOS 17 beta available for the OnePlus 15?
The available official announcements do not establish that OnePlus 15 owners can enroll in a ColorOS 17 open beta, or specify a region where one is available. OPPO’s September 24 announcement says OnePlus is among the first brands slated for coordinated global upgrades, but gives no global release date. Check official OnePlus or OPPO notices for your region and exact device before installing any beta.

A separate August 7 report described a global closed beta for the OnePlus 15 series. A closed test is not evidence that a public open beta is available.
What is the OnePlus 15 Android 17 developer preview?
OPPO Developer Services lists the OnePlus 15 as supported for an Android 17 developer preview. It is intended as an early-stage preview, not presented as the consumer ColorOS 17 open beta. Its listing warns that upgrading erases all phone storage and that the software may have compatibility problems or issues with system apps.

Quick Recap
What to do before installing anything
- Confirm the software channel. Make sure the official notice calls the build a ColorOS 17 open beta if that is what you intend to install; an Android 17 developer-preview listing is a different channel.
- Check region and model eligibility. Follow the official notice for your market and exact OnePlus 15 variant. Availability should not be assumed to be global.
- Read the build’s installation warnings. For the OPPO Android 17 developer preview, OPPO warns that all phone storage will be erased and that early-stage issues may occur.
- Back up before installing a data-erasing preview. Do not proceed until you have saved anything you cannot afford to lose.
- Review the exit path. OnePlus says an OxygenOS rollback is planned for eligible devices after the official ColorOS 17 release, but has not yet specified the rollback versions.
