How the performance specifications differ

The listed chipsets place these phones in different hardware categories: the OnePlus 13R is listed with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while Xiaomi confirms Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 for the Redmi. That contrast alone does not establish how either phone performs in a particular game, workload, or sustained-use test. No comparable benchmark or hands-on performance results are established here.

Display: LTPO AMOLED or larger 1.5K AMOLED

The OnePlus listing specifies a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a 1264 × 2780 resolution and refresh rate up to 120Hz. Xiaomi specifies a slightly larger 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel at 2772 × 1280, also up to 120Hz. These are distinct panel and resolution specifications; they do not by themselves prove which screen looks better in use.

Camera hardware and what the megapixels do not tell you

91mobiles lists three rear cameras for the OnePlus 13R: 50MP main, 8MP ultrawide, and 50MP telephoto. Xiaomi’s official Redmi specifications list a 50MP OIS main camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera; the cited specifications do not establish a telephoto camera for the Redmi. The front-camera resolutions listed are 16MP for OnePlus and 32MP for Redmi. Lens count and resolution are not substitutes for comparable photo or video tests, so they cannot establish which phone takes better pictures.

Battery capacity and charging

Xiaomi specifies a typical 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery and 100W HyperCharge for the Redmi. The comparison lists a 6,000mAh battery and 80W SuperVOOC charging for the OnePlus. The Redmi therefore has the larger stated capacity on paper, but capacity alone does not establish real-world runtime, and no comparable battery-life or charging-time test is available here.

Xiaomi’s product page says, “Get up to 4+ days without worrying about your battery.” This is a manufacturer claim attributed to Xiaomi internal lab testing under a simulated light-use scenario—not an independent result. Xiaomi says actual results vary with test environment, software, network conditions, and individual usage. See the Xiaomi India product page.

Price difference in India

The 91mobiles comparison page displays ₹54,999 for the OnePlus 13R at Flipkart and ₹49,999 for the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G at Amazon, a nominal ₹5,000 difference in favor of the Redmi. These are secondary-source listing prices, not confirmed live checkout prices or a market-wide price comparison. Seller, discount, stock, memory variant, and date can change the amount; check the exact regional model and configuration before purchasing.

Which phone should you choose?

  • Consider the OnePlus 13R if the listed Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 hardware or the listed 50MP telephoto camera matters most to you. The available figures do not establish benchmark performance or comparative camera quality.
  • Consider the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G if its larger stated battery capacity, 6.83-inch display, or lower displayed price is more relevant to your priorities. The price is a listing figure, while battery capacity does not guarantee a particular runtime.
  • Compare exact SKUs before deciding. The comparison lists different RAM and storage options, and Xiaomi notes that configurations vary by market. Match the regional model and memory configuration when checking price and availability.

The evidence here is a specification and listing comparison, not a hands-on review: it does not establish measured gaming speed, battery endurance, charging time, photo quality, or current retailer inventory. The 91mobiles page also shows conflicting Redmi launch-date entries, so no precise launch date is stated.

Regional availability and box contents

Xiaomi India’s specification page lists an adapter, USB Type-C cable, SIM eject tool, protective case, and quick-start guide in the package, but says the package list is for reference and contents may vary by sales region and packaging version. Confirm the box contents for the market and seller you are buying from. The comparison page’s displayed prices likewise should not be treated as proof of current stock or availability in every region.
