The Full Nerd podcast has moved from recording at PCWorld’s studio to fully remote production. PCWorld tied the change to host Adam Patrick Murray’s move from California to North Carolina, which made weekly trips back to the studio costly. The studio’s podcast chapter is ending, but the room itself is not: PCWorld says its video team will continue using it for other videos.
Why The Full Nerd is going remote
In a feature published Oct. 2, 2026, PCWorld said The Full Nerd had recorded at its studio for over a decade. The shift followed Murray’s move from California to North Carolina; PCWorld said bringing him back for weekly recording sessions had become costly. The show had started recording remotely the week before the feature appeared.
PCWorld took the feature’s week off while Murray focused on his move. Senior Video Creator Alex Wawro described the change as a transition “from broadcasting in the studio to doing it all online.” That was the plan reported at publication, not confirmation of the show’s later schedule.
What Murray’s studio tour shows
Murray recorded a behind-the-scenes tour before leaving, mixing stories about the set’s construction and the show’s early days with details that became part of its identity.

What happens to the studio now
The change applies to The Full Nerd’s recording arrangement, not PCWorld’s broader video production. PCWorld said its video team would keep using the old studio for other videos. The room is therefore no longer the podcast’s regular recording home, but it is not being retired altogether.
