To pair an Oculus (Meta Quest) Touch controller, open the Meta Horizon app on your phone, select your headset, then choose Headset settings > Controllers > Pair new controller. Select the controller’s side and follow the prompts. When asked, hold Meta/Oculus + B on the right controller or Menu + Y on the left until its LED blinks and then lights steadily.

Turn on the headset and open the Meta Horizon app on your phone.

Open Headset settings > Controllers > Pair new controller. These labels are reported in a Meta support response on the Meta Community Forums, rather than a current consumer help-center article, so follow the app’s current prompts if the wording has changed. Choose the left or right controller, then put it into pairing mode using the corresponding buttons:

Right controller: hold Meta/Oculus + B.

Left controller: hold Menu + Y.

Keep holding until the LED blinks and then lights up. Continue with any remaining instructions in the app.

The button combinations and LED cue above are described in MetaStoreHelp’s forum response. It addresses a Quest 2 trigger-support question, so it is useful for the pairing flow but is not a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for every headset or controller model.

According to the same Meta support response, paired controllers automatically reconnect when the headset is turned on and nearby. If that does not happen, use the app’s controller settings to check the selected headset and follow the current on-screen prompts. For model-specific help, contact Meta Support.

Check the controller model before replacing one
“Oculus controller” is often used to mean a Meta Quest Touch controller, but Touch controllers come in different generations. Meta’s developer documentation identifies these pairings by what ships with each headset: Meta Quest Touch with Quest 2 and Quest 3S, Touch Plus with Quest 3, and Touch Pro with Quest Pro. That list identifies controller families and the headsets they ship with; it does not establish that every controller generation can pair with every headset. If a controller is missing or faulty, confirm its exact model and compatibility with your headset before looking for a replacement. Meta’s documentation also describes Touch Plus controllers as optional accessories for the referenced device; that does not establish compatibility with other headsets. If pairing does not complete

Check that you selected the headset you intend to use in the app and chose the matching controller side.

Retry the correct button combination and continue with the app’s prompts if its labels differ from those shown above.

If the controller still will not pair, consult Meta Support for guidance specific to your headset and controller model. The cited pairing response does not establish a universal fix such as battery removal, a factory reset, or a firmware procedure.
