Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFor a pre-recorded video streamed through OBS to YouTube at 1440p60, set the output to 2560×1440 at 60 fps, use constant bitrate (CBR), and set a two-second keyframe interval. YouTube’s recommended video bitrate is 34 Mbps for H.264 or 24 Mbps for AV1 and H.265/HEVC. Choose the codec your OBS encoder supports and your upload connection can sustain.

Match bitrate to the outgoing codec
YouTube’s encoder settings table, accessed October 3, 2026, gives these 1440p60 video bitrate figures:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
| Codec | YouTube minimum | YouTube recommended |
|---|---|---|
| H.264 | 8 Mbps | 34 Mbps |
| AV1 or H.265/HEVC | 6 Mbps | 24 Mbps |
These are codec-specific recommendations for YouTube ingestion. Do not substitute a generic 1080p bitrate figure or assume one bitrate range applies to every codec. The settings do not guarantee a particular playback codec or visible improvement for viewers. YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrate, and resolution guidance lists supported ingest settings.
#1 Best Overall
- QHD Resolution (2560 x 1440) has 1.7 times the pixel density of Full HD for incredibly detailed pinsharp images
- HDR10 provides brighter highlights and nuanced shadow for added depth - making every scene feel more vivid and realistic
- The 180Hz refresh rate minimizes lag for gameplay with ultra-smooth action. Plus, the 1ms response time helps capture your moves in real-time, allowing you to react fast for gaming precision
- AMD FreeSync reduces choppiness, screen lag and image tearing, ensuring that your fast-paced, complex in-game action is stable with minimal stutter
- Ergonomic stand allows for tilt, pivot and height adjustments to maximize gaming comfort
Choose a bitrate your connection can sustain
Allow upload capacity for the full outgoing stream, including audio, and for other traffic using the same connection. YouTube recommends 20% upload-bandwidth headroom; the reviewed guidance page does not state a publication year (accessed October 3, 2026). A speed test is useful, but a single result cannot establish that the connection will remain stable for the whole event. YouTube’s streaming tips cover bandwidth, testing, and event monitoring.
Prepare a pre-recorded video as an OBS live event
The file may already be recorded, but OBS still encodes and sends it as a live feed to YouTube. The source’s playback or looping behavior in OBS is separate from YouTube’s outgoing bitrate and keyframe requirements.

- Quality Visuals: The KG271U 27" IPS monitor with 2560 x 1440 QHD resolution in a 16:9 aspect ratio presents stunning, high-quality images with excellent detail. The zero-frame design does away with the thick frames found on conventional monitors freeing up precious screen space.
- AMD FreeSync Technology: Say “goodbye” to stuttering and tearing. With AMD FreeSync, the monitor’s frames are synced with the graphics card’s frames, which eliminates screen tearing and provide the smoothest gaming experience.
- Up to 180Hz: The 180Hz refresh rate speeds up the frames per second to deliver an ultra-smooth 2D motion scene. With a rapid refresh rate of up to 180Hz, Acer Gaming Monitors shorten the time it takes for frame rendering, lower input lag and provide gamers an excellent in-game experience.
- Responsive!!: Up to 0.5ms GTG (Gray to Gray) response time enhanced gamers’ in-game experience. No matter the fast-moving action or any dramatic transitions will be all rendered smoothly without the annoying effects of smearing or ghosting with KG271U Gaming Monitor.
- New Depths of Color Accuracy: is monitor is ideal for color-critical projects producing accurate colors, supporting DCI-P3 95%. An amazing monitor for graphic designers, photographers, and film editors.
- Create or schedule the event: In YouTube Studio, create a live stream using an encoder, or schedule one in advance. YouTube says scheduled streams can be promoted and viewers can receive reminders.
- Copy the ingest details: In the event’s encoder setup, obtain the stream URL and stream key. Treat the key as a secret; anyone with access to it may be able to send video to the event.
- Configure OBS output: Set the outgoing resolution, frame rate, codec, CBR bitrate, and two-second keyframe interval as above. Enter YouTube’s stream URL and key in OBS’s streaming settings. Exact labels and available encoder choices depend on your OBS version and hardware.
- Set up the prerecorded source: Add the video to your OBS scene using the media playback controls available in your installed version. Confirm playback, audio, and any intended end-of-file or looping behavior before relying on it for a scheduled broadcast.
- Start early and inspect preview: YouTube advises setting up encoder events at least two hours ahead and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before the scheduled event. Wait for the Live Control Room preview and check that picture and sound are present.
- Test and monitor: Use representative movement and audio, review stream health in Live Control Room, and verify that any local archive is intact. Do not assume that a saved settings profile alone confirms the event is healthy.
For the current stream-key, URL, scheduling, and preview workflow, see YouTube’s guide to creating a live stream with an encoder.

Before going live: practical checks
- Confirm that 2560×1440 at 60 fps is appropriate for the source and that the encoder can maintain it without overload.
- Check the selected codec against the bitrate row above; leave YouTube’s recommended 20% upload headroom.
- Listen for source audio and confirm the output audio format and sample rate.
- Check YouTube’s preview and stream-health indicators before the scheduled start, then keep monitoring during the event.
- Consider copyright before broadcasting. A prerecorded file is not exempt from YouTube’s rights rules; use material you own or are authorized to stream, and review YouTube’s current policies for the content and channel.
Common 1440p60 problems and what to check
| Symptom | Likely check |
|---|---|
| Unstable stream or dropped frames | Check sustained upload capacity, the 20% headroom recommendation, other network traffic, and whether the encoder can maintain the chosen resolution and frame rate. |
| YouTube does not show a preview | Check that OBS is using the event’s current stream URL and key, that the encoder has started, and that the selected protocol and codec are supported by the stream configuration. |
| Picture is present but audio is missing or unsuitable | Check the OBS audio source, source playback, and output audio settings against YouTube’s stereo or 5.1 guidance. |
| Image quality is inconsistent with expectations | Verify the actual output resolution, frame rate, codec, and bitrate in OBS and YouTube’s stream health. Ingest settings alone do not guarantee a specific viewer-side result. |
| Broadcast ends when the file finishes | Check the media source’s playback and end-of-file behavior in your OBS version; YouTube’s ingest settings do not control source looping. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If the goal is continuous prerecorded programming rather than a locally produced OBS scene, StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud option. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; the cloud loops the uploaded video, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. It supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream.
