For a single local video, add it to an OBS scene as a Media Source and turn on Loop. For a rotation of several videos, use VLC Video with Loop Playlist. A dependable starting point for a 720p landscape stream is 30 fps, H.264, CBR at 3–8 Mbps, a 2-second keyframe interval, and AAC stereo at 128 kbps. These settings are the same for Malayalam devotional content as for other video; your connection and computer determine whether they remain stable.
Set up a video that repeats in OBS
Loop one video file

Open OBS and create or select a scene for the broadcast.

In the Sources panel, select + → Media Source. Name the source, then select the local video file.

Enable Loop in the Media Source properties. OBS restarts the file after playback completes. Confirm the source is visible in the preview and that its audio appears on the mixer.

Fit the source to the canvas if needed: right-click it in the preview → Transform → Fit to Screen. Check that the image is not cropped or stretched.
Rotate several files

Install VLC, then add a VLC Video source from the Sources panel and add the files in the intended playlist order.

Leave Loop Playlist enabled to repeat the playlist. OBS requires VLC to be installed; if you use 64-bit OBS, install 64-bit VLC.

VLC Video stops when it is not visible and restarts when it becomes visible by default. If you switch scenes, check the source’s visibility and playback behavior so the rotation resumes as expected.
Recommended OBS settings for a stable 720p30 stream
Use this as a conservative starting profile for a landscape devotional video. The bitrate range follows YouTube’s current encoder guidance retrieved in 2026: 3 Mbps is its minimum and 8 Mbps its recommended H.264 bitrate for 720p at 30 fps. Start lower if your sustained upload capacity or computer headroom is limited, then use YouTube’s stream-health feedback to assess the result.

YouTube’s bitrate and keyframe figures are encoder recommendations, not a promise that a particular PC or network will stream without interruption. YouTube transcodes live streams for different output formats. Check its current encoder guidance at YouTube’s live encoder settings. When to choose a different resolution or frame rate
Use 720p30 as a starting point for a mostly static loop, not as a universal rule. A higher resolution or 60 fps needs more upload capacity and may demand more from the computer. Choose output quality your connection can sustain reliably; a larger number is not automatically better if it causes dropped frames.
Connect OBS to YouTube and test before going live

In OBS, open Settings → Stream, choose YouTube as the service, and enter the stream key for the intended YouTube broadcast. Treat the key like a password: do not show or share it. OBS documents the service and key controls in its overview.

Set the output values under Settings → Output and the canvas, output resolution, and frame rate under Settings → Video.

Play the video in OBS and inspect the preview, audio mixer, and stream health in YouTube’s Live Control Room. Test with representative audio and motion before the actual broadcast, as YouTube recommends.

Keep the audio and image rights in order
Malayalam language or a devotional subject does not itself grant permission to livestream a recording, performance, image, or video. Use content you own or have permission to stream, and check the applicable rights for each element. The technical encoder settings cannot establish whether a particular song or recording is licensed, copyright-safe, or eligible for monetization.
Troubleshoot common loop and stream problems
