Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →For one prerecorded lesson, add it to an OBS scene as a Media Source and turn on Loop. For a sequence of lessons, use VLC Video Source and enable Loop Playlist. Then configure OBS to send a stable feed to YouTube: use a supported encoder, CBR, a two-second keyframe interval, and a bitrate your upload connection can sustain. Hindi does not require a special encoder profile; choose Hindi for the lesson, titles, and other audience-facing details.
Choose the right OBS source
| Option | Use it for | Loop behavior and requirements |
|---|---|---|
| Media Source | One local lesson video | Its built-in Loop setting repeats the file. No VLC installation is required. |
| VLC Video Source | A playlist of multiple files | Loop Playlist restarts the playlist when it ends. VLC must be installed; 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC. |
OBS Media Source supports common video formats including MP4, MOV, MKV, and WebM. For the exact control descriptions, see the OBS Project’s Media Sources guide.

Set up a single lesson to repeat
- In OBS, select or create the scene that will contain the lesson. Add a source with the + button and choose Media Source.
- Name the source if useful, select the local video file, and confirm. Check that the source is visible in the scene; the eye icon in OBS controls whether a source appears in the output.
- Enable Loop. This makes the video start again when playback reaches the end.
- Decide separately whether to leave Restart playback when source becomes active enabled. It restarts playback when the source becomes visible in the current scene. It is not the same as Loop; OBS documents it as on by default, while Loop is off by default.
- Preview the scene and check that the lesson is framed correctly, its audio is audible, and no unintended sources are visible.
If you want the source to disappear after playback rather than hold its last frame, OBS provides Show nothing when playback ends. For a continuous repeat, use Loop instead. OBS explains how scenes, sources, and source visibility affect output in its Sources Guide.

Set up a playlist of lessons
- Install VLC before using the OBS VLC Video Source. Match the architecture: 64-bit OBS needs 64-bit VLC.
- Add a VLC Video Source to the scene and add the video files in the order you want them to play.
- Turn on Loop Playlist so the sequence begins again after the last file. OBS documents this option as on by default, but verify it in the source settings.
- Preview the whole sequence far enough to verify its order, audio, and transitions before broadcasting.
Choose YouTube encoder settings for your connection
YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends RTMPS and lists RTMP/RTMPS delivery, H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1 encoding, constant bitrate (CBR), and a keyframe interval of two seconds; do not exceed four seconds. Use a codec supported by the encoder you select in OBS. The platform supports frame rates up to 60 fps, but a higher frame rate is not automatically better for a recorded lesson. Match output to the source and to the computer and upload connection that must sustain it.

Connect OBS to YouTube safely
- In YouTube Studio, create or select the live stream in Live Control Room, following YouTube’s encoder setup steps.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key into the corresponding fields in OBS’s streaming settings. Treat the stream key like a password: it lets an encoder send a feed to your channel. Do not share it publicly.
- If this is your first time enabling live streaming, allow up to 24 hours for YouTube to activate it.
- Before using a previous stream’s settings, review them. YouTube’s Reuse settings copies metadata, settings, and the stream key, with an opportunity to edit the new stream; see Manage live stream settings.
Test the stream before an audience joins
- Run a test with both audio and movement in the video, not just a still screen.
- Check the Live Control Room preview before starting the broadcast, then monitor stream health and any messages while live.
- For a scheduled event, YouTube advises setting up the encoder at least two hours ahead and starting it at least 15 minutes before the event.
- Confirm the lesson’s audio level, scene visibility, and video framing. A loop can work correctly while an unintended scene or muted source still produces the wrong output.
See YouTube’s encoder guidance for its testing and stream-health recommendations.

Copyright and educational content checks
Looping a video does not change whether you have the rights to broadcast it. Before streaming, make sure you have permission to use the lesson, music, images, and any other material in it, including material included in a recording made by someone else. Educational purpose or Hindi-language presentation alone does not establish that you may rebroadcast copyrighted material. Review YouTube’s applicable policies and rights information for your content before going live.

Troubleshoot common problems
| Symptom | Likely check | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The video stops at the end instead of restarting | Loop is off, or the wrong source is being used. | For one file, enable Loop in Media Source properties. For a sequence, enable Loop Playlist in VLC Video Source. |
| A source starts from the beginning when you switch scenes | Restart playback when source becomes active is enabled. | That control restarts playback when the source becomes visible. Disable it if you do not want that behavior; it is independent of Loop. |
| VLC Video Source is unavailable or does not play files | VLC may not be installed, or its architecture may not match OBS. | Install the VLC version matching OBS. OBS specifies that 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC. |
| YouTube does not receive the OBS feed | Check the stream URL and key, and whether live streaming is enabled. | Copy the correct credentials from YouTube Studio into OBS, keep the key private, and allow up to 24 hours for first-time enablement. |
| The stream drops frames or appears unstable | The selected output may exceed stable upload capacity, or other network traffic may reduce available bandwidth. | Test the connection, lower resolution, frame rate, or bitrate as needed, and leave upload headroom. Recheck stream health in Live Control Room. |
| The broadcast is live but the lesson or audio is missing | The wrong scene may be active, the source may be hidden, or its audio may be muted. | Check the active scene and source eye icon, then verify audio in the preview before going live. |
