For a mostly low-motion Hindi playlist on YouTube Live, start with OBS at 1920×1080, 30 fps, H.264, CBR, RTMPS and a 2-second keyframe interval. Set the bitrate only after measuring sustained upload at the streaming location: YouTube’s H.264 guidance for 1080p30 is 5 Mbps minimum and 14 Mbps recommended, but that does not guarantee your JioFiber connection or computer can maintain it.
Recommended starting settings for 1080p30
| Setting | Starting value | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Resolution and frame rate | 1920×1080 at 30 fps | A practical starting point for artwork, lyrics and other mostly still visuals. It is not a measured prescription for every playlist. |
| Video codec | H.264 | Use this profile with YouTube’s corresponding bitrate guidance. |
| Rate control | CBR | Constant bitrate is the recommended mode for the YouTube profile described here. |
| Bitrate | 5 Mbps minimum; 14 Mbps recommended | YouTube’s H.264 guidance for 1080p30. Choose a value your measured connection can sustain with headroom. |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds | YouTube recommends two seconds and says not to exceed four seconds. |
| Protocol | RTMPS | YouTube supports RTMP/RTMPS and recommends RTMPS. |
| Audio | AAC | YouTube’s listed H.264 profile calls for AAC audio. |
These are YouTube ingest recommendations, not a promise of stream quality on a particular JioFiber plan. See YouTube’s live encoder settings, bitrates and resolutions for the current platform guidance.

Choose 30 fps or 60 fps for the playlist
For slides, devotional artwork, lyrics, or video with little movement, 30 fps is a sensible first test: it reduces encoding and upload demand compared with 60 fps. That is a workload-based starting choice, not a measured result for your channel. If the playlist contains frequent motion, test a representative segment and judge both image quality and stream health.

| 1080p30 | 5 Mbps | 14 Mbps |
| 1080p60 | 6 Mbps | 17 Mbps |
The figures are YouTube’s H.264 ingest guidance. Moving from 30 to 60 fps raises the recommended bitrate and the computer’s encoding workload. Make the choice based on playlist motion, measured upload headroom, your computer’s ability to encode continuously, and the result of a real test.

Set up OBS and YouTube Live
- Let OBS assess the computer. In OBS, open Tools → Auto-Configuration Wizard and use its recommendation as an initial hardware-aware profile. OBS notes that suitable settings depend on the setup and use case.
- Connect the broadcast. In YouTube Live Control Room, choose or create the broadcast and connect OBS through the current YouTube integration or stream-key workflow. Follow the current on-screen instructions; the OBS community guide is a workflow reference, but its interface guidance was last updated in 2021: How to stream to YouTube with OBS Studio.
- Set the video profile. Use 1920×1080 and 30 fps as the initial output. Configure H.264, CBR, RTMPS, AAC audio and a 2-second keyframe interval. In OBS, output controls are under Settings → Output; video dimensions and frame rate are under Settings → Video. Labels can vary by OBS version and output mode.
- Measure upload where you will stream. Run a speed test from the actual computer and network path, ideally at a representative busy time. YouTube specifically advises, “We recommend running a speed test to test your upload bitrate.” Do not treat the advertised JioFiber plan speed as sustained usable upload. Leave capacity for audio, network overhead, bitrate variation and other household traffic.
- Run a representative preflight. Test privately or without an audience, using the same playlist type and audio you intend to stream. Check YouTube stream health and OBS statistics for dropped frames or encoding overload before relying on the settings.
OBS’s x264 article gives 5,000–8,000 Kbps at 1920×1080 and 30 fps as its own starting range for x264 on the veryfast preset with low-to-medium motion. It is not YouTube’s platform-wide rule and does not replace the current YouTube H.264 values above. A hardware encoder may work better on a particular computer, but no one encoder can be selected for an unspecified PC. OBS’s guidance is that “There is no such thing as ‘best settings’.” See OBS Project’s x264 streaming guide for the workload trade-offs.
Can JioFiber handle a 1080p stream?
There is no single JioFiber upload figure established here for every plan, location or time of day. Whether your connection can sustain a 1080p stream depends on the actual upload available to the streaming computer, other network use and the bitrate you choose. Measure at the stream location rather than inferring performance from the ISP name or advertised plan speed.

Pick a sustainable bitrate
Use YouTube’s 5 Mbps minimum and 14 Mbps recommended figures for H.264 1080p30 as reference points, then choose a bitrate that leaves meaningful headroom on your measured sustained upload. If your connection cannot hold the recommended value reliably, prioritize a stable stream rather than setting OBS to a number the network cannot deliver. Re-test when household network conditions or the streaming location changes.

- OBS reports network-dropped frames or YouTube stream health degrades: The outgoing stream may exceed stable upload capacity or compete with other traffic. Lower bitrate first, then run another representative test. Check upload again at the same location and time conditions.
- OBS reports encoding overload: The computer may not be encoding the chosen resolution and frame rate continuously. Lower frame rate or resolution, or reduce encoder load by trying an appropriate preset or encoder option and testing again.
- The picture looks poor despite a stable connection: Check the motion in the playlist and compare the result at the chosen bitrate. Motion, resolution, frame rate, bitrate and encoder preset all affect the outcome; use a representative segment rather than judging from a still image.
- The stream disconnects during setup: Verify that OBS is connected to the broadcast currently selected in YouTube Live Control Room and that you followed the current integration or stream-key flow. Re-check the on-screen connection details rather than relying on an old interface walkthrough.
