There is no documented Pixel Watch setting that syncs the song history from a Pixel phone’s Now Playing app. Google documents Now Playing as a Pixel phone feature for recognizing nearby music and keeping a song history. Pixel Watch support guides cover pairing, connectivity, and app updates, but do not describe a native watch option for mirroring that history. You can still set up the watch, fix connection problems, and distinguish phone song recognition from playback controls on the watch.
What “Now Playing” means on a Pixel phone and Pixel Watch
On a Pixel phone, Now Playing recognizes music heard nearby and can show a history of recognized songs. Google’s instructions for that feature describe controls and history in the phone app, not a Pixel Watch history screen. See Google’s Pixel phone Now Playing help.

A watch can also provide media controls for playback from a phone, and a third-party watch app may offer its own music features. Those are different behaviors from transferring the Pixel phone’s Now Playing recognition history. The official Pixel Watch guides cited here explain general watch setup, connection, and app updates; they do not document a native Now Playing history-sync setting. Check the feature and version details for any specific third-party app you use rather than assuming it is part of Pixel Watch setup.

What you need before setting up a Pixel Watch
Google lists these setup requirements: the included charging cable, a Google Account, a compatible Android phone with a compatible current software version, internet access through Wi-Fi or LTE, and the latest Google Pixel Watch app. Google’s setup page says Pixel Watch works with most phones running Android 10.0 or newer; check the requirements for your exact watch model because compatibility can vary. How Now Playing handles privacy on Pixel phones
Google says Pixel phone Now Playing can use a short digital audio fingerprint for cloud searches when it cannot find a match locally or needs more song details. Google says raw audio and background conversations are not sent. These statements describe the phone’s Now Playing feature; they should not be treated as documentation of watch behavior.
