Nothing’s official US and UK storefronts show prices in different currencies on different dates, and the Xiaomi pages checked for this comparison publish specifications but no selling price. A price gap is only meaningful when you compare one country, one memory and storage configuration, and one date. This article sets out what each manufacturer publishes, where the figures are actually comparable, and how to run a fair price check before you choose.
Which two phones are being compared
Nothing Phone (4a) Pro
Nothing’s official product name is Phone (4a) Pro, which is the model usually shortened to “Phone 4a Pro.” Nothing’s US product page, at us.nothing.tech/products/phone-4a-pro, describes a three-camera system with a Sony sensor and carries the claim “World’s first 140x ultra zoom*.” That wording is Nothing’s own marketing claim, attached to an asterisk on its page; it has not been independently tested in this article.

Nothing’s launch announcement says global pre-orders began March 13, 2026, with open sales starting March 27, 2026 “in most markets.” The announcement is a launch reference, and current storefront prices can differ from it. The launch announcement is at nothing.community/en/d/53745-phone-4a-pro-has-arrived/6.
Xiaomi REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G
Xiaomi publishes separate specification pages by region. The India page, at mi.com/in/product/redmi-note-17-pro-max-5g/specs/, is the most detailed of the Xiaomi pages checked. The UK page, at mi.com/uk/product/redmi-note-17-pro-max-5g/specs/, covers display, memory, network and charging details for that market. The two pages differ on package contents, which is covered below.

Why these numbers cannot be subtracted
- Currencies and markets differ. The $419 US figure, the £519 UK figure and the rupee launch prices are not in the same currency, and converting them with an exchange rate produces a calculation, not a published price.
- Configurations differ. The US storefront figure is for an 8+128GB variant, while the Xiaomi India page lists no 128GB option, so there is no matched Xiaomi configuration for that price.
- Dates differ. Launch prices are reference points from March 2026, while the storefront observations are from October 7, 2026, and both can change.
- Xiaomi has no selling price on these pages. Without a Xiaomi price for a named market and date, there is no second side of the comparison.
Battery and charging claims
Xiaomi’s India page lists a 10,000mAh typical silicon-carbon battery, 100W wired charging and 27W wired reverse charging. Xiaomi also says the phone offers “up to 4+ days” of battery life. That claim is based on light use and Xiaomi’s internal lab testing, so it is a manufacturer test result rather than an independently measured real-world figure.
The Nothing pages checked do not publish battery capacity or charging speed, so there is no published basis for a battery-life comparison between the two phones. Capacity and charging values are specifications, and they are not evidence of how long either phone lasts under your own use.
Network bands and what is in the box
Network bands
Xiaomi’s UK page states that network bands vary by region and operator support. Before buying a regional variant, check that its 5G and LTE bands match the carriers you plan to use. The Nothing pages checked do not list band support, so check the band list on the specific listing you are considering.

Power adapter and protective case
The two Xiaomi pages do not agree. The India page lists a power adapter and a protective case among package contents, while warning that actual contents may vary by region and packaging. The UK page states that no power adapter is included and recommends a 100W PD-compatible charger or an official Xiaomi 100W adapter. A UK buyer should therefore plan for a compatible charger, while an India buyer should confirm what is in their specific box. Nothing’s package contents are not stated on the pages checked.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesHow to run a fair price comparison
- Choose one country and one currency. Compare only listings from the same official or authorised store in that market.
- Match memory and storage. Nothing’s launch configurations are 8+128GB, 8+256GB and 12+256GB. Xiaomi’s India page lists 8GB or 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, so the closest matched pair is usually Nothing 8+256GB or 12+256GB against Xiaomi with the same RAM and 256GB storage, if the listing confirms it.
- Record the date and any promotion. Note whether a price is a current selling price, a crossed-out reference price, or a launch figure.
- Check what is included. If one listing bundles a charger and the other does not, add the cost of a compatible adapter before comparing totals.
- Check the total at checkout. Taxes, delivery and any bundled accessories should be compared on the same basis for both phones.
- Check band support for your carrier on each listing before purchase.
Choosing between the two on the published facts
The published facts support a few narrow conclusions, and no more:
- If the largest stated battery capacity and the 100W charging rate are your priority, the Xiaomi India page is the one that publishes those figures. The “up to 4+ days” claim remains Xiaomi’s own test result.
- If Nothing’s camera positioning matters to you, the three-camera system and the “World’s first 140x ultra zoom*” claim are on Nothing’s US product page. That claim is Nothing’s marketing wording and should be judged against independent camera tests before you rely on it.
- If price decides the purchase, compare only same-market, same-configuration listings checked on the same day. Anything else is a comparison of different products or markets.
No independent benchmark, camera test or battery-life test is cited in this article, so it does not name a performance or camera winner between the two phones.
