Spec-by-spec breakdown
Processor
The Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 and the Dimensity 8500-Ultra are different chips from different makers, and their listings do not include benchmark results. A chip name tells you little about how a phone behaves after twenty minutes of gaming or a long camera session, which depends on cooling, software tuning, and memory configuration. Before choosing on performance, look for independent reviews that test both phones under the same conditions.

Cameras
The two camera layouts are built around different priorities. Nothing’s listing emphasises a 50 MP periscope telephoto lens with 3× optical zoom, which is the element to weigh if you often photograph subjects at a distance. Xiaomi’s listing emphasises a 50 MP Sony IMX882 main camera with optical image stabilisation and an 8 MP ultra-wide lens. The Xiaomi page does not list a telephoto camera, and the Nothing page does not state its main or ultra-wide sensors, so the two layouts cannot be matched lens for lens. Camera hardware alone does not determine image quality, which also depends on processing and software.
Battery and charging
Xiaomi rates the REDMI Turbo 5 at 7,540 mAh with 100 W charging. Nothing rates the Phone (3a) Pro at 5,000 mAh with 50 W charging. These are capacity and charging ratings, not endurance results. Real-world battery life depends on screen settings, network signal, and usage, and no like-for-like test was available for either phone. The 100 W figure also applies only when the phone is used with a compatible charger; the REDMI Turbo 5 box includes a 100 W adapter.
Display
The Phone (3a) Pro has a larger 6.77-inch AMOLED panel with a stated 120 Hz refresh rate. The REDMI Turbo 5 has a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel that Xiaomi describes as supporting up to 120 Hz. The cited pages do not say whether either phone switches refresh rates automatically, so check the display settings on the model you are considering before assuming how it will behave in daily use.
Ingress protection
Nothing lists IP64 for the Phone (3a) Pro. Xiaomi lists IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K for the REDMI Turbo 5. These ratings come from different test standards and conditions, so the higher list on the Xiaomi page should be read as the manufacturer’s own claim, not as proof of stronger protection in every situation. Neither ratings table is a guarantee against accidental damage.

Software support
Xiaomi states that the REDMI Turbo 5 receives four years of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates, according to its India FAQ. The reviewed Nothing product page does not state an equivalent duration. This axis is therefore unresolved rather than tied, and it is worth checking Nothing’s current update policy directly before deciding.

A price difference only means something when both phones are priced in the same country, with the same storage and RAM, the same tax treatment, and the same warranty, on the same date. The evidence meets none of those conditions for a direct comparison.
| Source | Phone | Market | Configuration | Price stated | Date |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nothing European storefront | Phone (3a) Pro | Europe | not stated | €459 starting price | accessed in 2026 |
| Xiaomi India product page | REDMI Turbo 5 | India | not stated | not stated in the cited source | not stated |
The €459 figure is a storefront listing, not a fixed or universal price, and it cannot be converted and subtracted from an Indian price. Doing so would combine two different markets, tax regimes, and configurations into a number that describes neither.
To get a usable price gap, check both phones in one market and in this order:
Quick Recap
- Choose the country where you will buy and where the phone will be used.
- Match the RAM and storage configuration on both models. Confirm the variant names, since a higher-storage model can change the gap by more than the base-price difference.
- Compare the tax-inclusive price at the same seller type, such as an official store or an authorised retailer.
- Confirm the warranty terms and whether the seller is the manufacturer, a local importer, or a third party.
- Record the date and the price shown, because listings change.
Which phone fits which buyer
- Choose the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro if a telephoto zoom lens and a smaller, lighter phone are your priorities, and if you can confirm the update policy and the local price.
- Choose the REDMI Turbo 5 if you want the larger battery, 100 W charging with an adapter in the box, and the higher ingress-protection ratings listed by Xiaomi, and if the stated four-year Android and six-year security commitment matters to you.
- If you need a telephoto lens above all else, the REDMI Turbo 5 listing does not show one, so the Nothing is the only one of the two with a stated telephoto camera.
- If you plan to buy the Turbo 5 outside India, confirm carrier compatibility and local warranty first, because the India listing does not establish either for other markets.
Before you buy
- Check the supported network bands for your carrier. The Xiaomi page describes India-specific features, and the cited sources do not establish band support for other countries.
- Check local warranty coverage on any imported or cross-border listing.
- Confirm package contents on the listing you are buying. Xiaomi says the REDMI Turbo 5 box includes a 100 W power adapter, USB-C cable, protective phone case, pre-applied screen protector, SIM tool, and user manual. The cited Nothing page does not establish what its box contains.
