The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite is worth considering when its local price is substantially lower or its listed 33W charging and higher-resolution selfie and ultrawide cameras suit you better. Their screens and battery capacities are close; there is no universal price difference because the available figures come from different markets and configurations.

These specifications describe hardware, not a head-to-head hands-on test. A higher megapixel count does not by itself establish better photos, and processor names alone do not show which phone feels faster in everyday use.

Which phone offers better long-term software support?
Samsung makes the clearer, longer official commitment: up to six generations of Android and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates from the phone’s initial global launch. “Up to” is Samsung’s stated maximum, not a promise that every update arrives immediately or on the same schedule in every country. The 91mobiles comparison lists three years of OS upgrades and six years of security updates for Nothing; treat those terms as secondary-source reporting rather than an independently confirmed Nothing commitment.
If you plan to keep a phone for several years and prioritize a manufacturer-published update window, the Galaxy A27 5G has the better-supported case. Samsung announced select-market availability from July 3, 2026, and U.S. availability from July 14, 2026; those dates do not establish availability in every market.

Are their screens and performance meaningfully different?
On paper, the displays are closely matched. Samsung lists a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with a refresh rate up to 120Hz; 91mobiles lists the Nothing at 6.77 inches, 1080 × 2392 resolution and 120Hz. The small diagonal difference is not enough to establish a practical viewing advantage without direct testing.
The chipsets differ—MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro in the Nothing, versus Samsung’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 (4nm)—but the names alone do not determine which phone performs better in the tasks you care about. 91mobiles reports Geekbench multi-core scores of 2,967 for Nothing and 2,989 for Samsung, and AnTuTu scores of 907,685 and 845,601, respectively. These are comparison-page figures; the retrieved material does not identify a complete original test-publisher and test-year trail for each score. They should not be treated as independently repeated or universal results.
Which camera setup fits your priorities?
Both phones list a 50MP main rear camera and a 2MP macro camera. Samsung specifies optical image stabilization (OIS) on its 50MP wide camera, while Nothing’s listed ultrawide is higher resolution. Nothing also lists a higher-resolution front camera. Those are hardware distinctions, not proof of which phone takes better pictures; image quality depends on more than megapixel counts, and no comparative photo test is established here.
- Consider Samsung if OIS on the main camera is a priority.
- Consider Nothing if the higher listed ultrawide or selfie-camera resolution matters to you.
Which one lasts longer or charges faster?
Both are listed with 5,000mAh batteries. Samsung calls its figure a typical capacity and confirms 25W charging; 91mobiles lists 33W charging for Nothing. The listed wattage favors Nothing, but it does not establish a guaranteed charging time: actual charging depends on the phone, charger, cable and conditions. Battery life also varies with settings and usage. 91mobiles reports PCMark battery results of 13h 06m for Nothing and 11h 24m for Samsung, but the retrieved comparison passage does not provide enough test-method and original-source detail to generalize those results to everyday use.
How do the prices compare?
There is no single reliable worldwide price gap. The available figures are from different markets and do not establish like-for-like current offers:
| Market and source | Nothing Phone (3a) Lite | Samsung Galaxy A27 5G | What the figure represents |
|---|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom, Nothing store | £199 for 8GB/128GB; £249 shown as the previous price | Not stated in the cited source | Nothing UK storefront display at the time accessed; not a universal MSRP. |
| United States, Samsung announcement | Not stated in the cited source | Starting at $349.99 | Samsung’s U.S. launch price; the company said availability would begin July 14, 2026, in Black on Samsung.com. |
| India, 91mobiles comparison | ₹28,800 | ₹33,999 | Prices displayed on the comparison page when retrieved; not confirmed as official or current retail prices. |
Do not subtract or convert these figures to claim one phone costs a particular amount more: taxes, storage configurations, availability and retailer offers differ. For a real buying decision, compare the same storage configuration in your country on the same day, including any discount and return terms.
Which phone should you buy?
Choose the Galaxy A27 5G if
- You value Samsung’s officially stated update commitment.
- You want the listed IP64 rating or OIS on the main camera.
- The price for your local configuration is acceptable.
IP64 is the rating Samsung states; do not interpret it as submersion protection.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsChoose the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite if
- Its local offer is meaningfully cheaper than the comparable Samsung configuration.
- You prefer its listed 33W wired charging.
- You value its slightly larger listed display or higher listed front and ultrawide camera resolutions.
Check local storage variants before ordering. Both brands’ listed configurations can vary by market, and a specification listed for one region does not guarantee the same SKU is sold everywhere.
