Nothing OS 2.0 focuses on making a Nothing phone feel more personal and making selected information and controls easier to reach. Its main features are home- and lock-screen customization, glanceable widgets, selective Glyph notifications, and Glyph Composer. Nothing also lists app locker, cloned apps, one-handed mode, and battery health.
Home- and lock-screen customization
Nothing describes OS 2.0 as emphasizing “functional customisation” to make phone interactions more intentional and mindful. The documented options let users adjust the look and layout of the interface, though they do not establish that every app or device can be styled identically. Nothing’s OS 2.0 feature overview lists these options:

- Customize app labels and home-screen grid design.
- Change widget size and colour themes.
- Use new folder layouts and illustrated folder covers.
- Apply an icon pack that gives icons a monochromatic style.
Widgets for quick information and controls
OS 2.0 supports home- and lock-screen widgets intended to show information or provide functions without first opening the relevant app. Nothing’s examples include Weather and Nothing X widgets, swipeable widget views that reveal more detail, and widgets for Quick Settings functions. Key widgets can also be placed on the lock screen. The available widgets and behavior may depend on the installed apps and device configuration.

Essential Glyph Notifications
Essential Glyph Notifications let users choose contacts or apps whose notifications trigger a Glyph light that stays on until the notification is opened. This is a selective alert feature; Nothing does not describe it as applying to every notification.

Other utilities Nothing lists
Nothing’s OS 2.0 overview also names four additional features:
- App locker
- Cloned apps
- One-handed mode
- Battery health
The overview does not specify setup steps, supported apps, device-by-device availability, or measured effects for these utilities, so those details should not be assumed from the feature names alone.

How OS 2.0 differs from the later OS 2.5 update
Nothing’s Phone (2) OS 2.5 changelog identifies that release as based on Android 14 and lists additions beyond the OS 2.0 feature set. These include a redesigned combined Home Screen and Lock Screen customization page; Atmosphere and Glass wallpaper effects; solid-colour and monochrome wallpapers; Glyph Progress integration with Google Calendar; changes to Glyph Timer; a customizable double-press power button; additional lock-screen shortcuts; three-finger screenshots and an updated screenshot editor; and pedometer, media-player, and screen-time widgets. These are OS 2.5 additions, not features to attribute to OS 2.0. Nothing’s OS 2.5 changelog says rollouts are usually staggered. It also notes that the new widgets require updated Nothing Launcher and Nothing Widgets apps from the Play Store.
Phone (2) support status is a separate issue
OS 2.0 describes a historical feature release, not the current software version on Phone (2). Nothing’s current support page says Phone (2) has reached the end of major software support and will not receive Nothing OS 5.0. This is a status for that model; it should not be generalized to other Nothing phones. Check Nothing’s current OS information for the company’s support status.
