NordPass is worth considering if you want a password manager with a free starting tier, paid cross-device access, and a separate six-account Family plan. The trade-off is that the Free plan has meaningful limits, current subscription prices and renewal terms cannot be confirmed here, and the available public information does not let readers inspect the Cure53 audit findings. NordPass describes its security design as zero-knowledge, but those architecture details are vendor claims—not a guarantee that any service is risk-free.
What NordPass offers
NordPass is a digital password manager with Free, Premium, and Family plans. The plan comparison available for this review describes Free as a lifetime plan for one account, while Family provides six separate accounts. Premium and Family add features such as access across multiple devices, Password Health, and Data Breach Scanner; the comparison also lists file attachments for Premium.

Plan differences at a glance
| Plan | Accounts | Device access | Features described in the available plan comparison |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | One | No multiple-device access | Autosave, autofill, and secure storage; Password Health and Data Breach Scanner are not included |
| Premium | One account | Multiple devices | Password Health, Data Breach Scanner, and file attachments |
| Family | Six separate accounts | Multiple devices | Features similar to Premium |
Is NordPass Free enough?
Free may suit someone who primarily needs password storage and autosave/autofill for one account, and who can live without access across multiple devices. The plan comparison also excludes Password Health and Data Breach Scanner from Free, so it is a narrower fit for anyone who wants those monitoring tools.
#1 Best Overall
- Save time with autofill. Automatically save and autofill login credentials, addresses, and payment details. NordPass signs you in and completes online forms with a single click.
- Identify weak or reused passwords. Identify weak, reused, or outdated passwords using the Password Health tool and update them before they become a risk.
- Emergency access for trusted contacts. Grant a trusted person the ability to request access to your vault in case of emergency. Access is only provided after your approval or a defined waiting period.
- Built-in authenticator and MFA support. Generate one-time authentication codes directly in NordPass and strengthen your vault with multi-factor authentication and hardware security keys.
- Access your passwords on any device. Access your passwords anywhere and anytime. Use NordPass across Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS, or open your vault from almost any browser with the web vault.
There is a difference between the current plan comparison and an older observation worth keeping in mind: TechRadar’s review, published July 22, 2025, reported unlimited password storage but only one signed-in session at a time. That is a dated reviewer observation, not confirmation of today’s storage allowance or session behavior. Check the current plan details before relying on either point.
When Premium or Family makes more sense
Choose Premium if you need your vault on multiple devices
The plan comparison identifies multiple-device access, Password Health, and Data Breach Scanner as Premium features, with file attachments also listed. If those additions address a real need, Premium is the relevant tier to compare against Free. Whether it is good value depends on the price and renewal terms shown to you at checkout, which are not established here.
Rank #2
- Auto-fill passwords, credit card details, and personal information fields with just a few clicks.
- Securely share passwords and other items stored in your NordPass vault.
- Stay logged in when switching between devices.
- Identify weak, old, or reused passwords.
- Discover whether any of your sensitive information has been compromised in a data leak.
Choose Family if six people need separate accounts
Family is described as providing six accounts with features similar to Premium. Separate accounts are useful when several people need their own password vaults rather than sharing one login. Confirm the live plan page for the current account and feature limits before subscribing.

An exact current price cannot be stated reliably from the available information: the official plan result displayed prices as “Loading.” A July 2025 TechRadar review included prices from that time, but those figures should not be treated as current. Taxes, introductory offers, billing term, and renewal rate may depend on geography and checkout conditions.
Rank #3
- Auto-Fill Feature: Say goodbye to the hassle of manually entering passwords! PasswordPocket automatically fills in your credentials with just a single click.
- Internet-Free Data Protection: Use Bluetooth as the communication medium with your device. Eliminating the need to access the internet and reducing the risk of unauthorized access.
- Military-Grade Encryption: Utilizes advanced encryption techniques to safeguard your sensitive information, providing you with enhanced privacy and security.
- Offline Account Management: Store up to 1,000 sets of account credentials in PasswordPocket.
- Support for Multiple Platforms: PasswordPocket works seamlessly across multiple platforms, including iOS and Android mobile phones and tablets.
Before choosing a paid plan, compare the total cost for the full billing term, the renewal amount, and the number of accounts or devices you need. Use the price presented in NordPass’s live checkout for your location rather than relying on an older review or an undated offer.
Is NordPass safe?
In the wording “NordPass review: Is it safe?”, the useful answer is that NordPass describes security measures intended to protect vault data, but the available evidence does not justify treating those measures as an unconditional safety guarantee.
Rank #4
What NordPass says about its design
NordPass describes its model as zero-knowledge. NordPass Support states: “Your Master Password, encryption, and decryption keys never reach our servers.” This is the company’s description of its architecture, not an independently verified finding in the material available for this review.
NordPass’s security page names X25519 for key exchange, XSalsa20 for key exchange and encryption, and Poly1305 for message authentication. A recent Tom’s Guide comparison instead describes NordPass as using XChaCha20. Because these descriptions differ, readers seeking the precise implementation should consult NordPass’s current technical documentation rather than assume the two accounts are interchangeable.

What the Cure53 audit information does—and does not—establish
NordPass says Cure53 audited its cryptographic premise, source code, background application, and codebase. A separate NordPass vault page says NordPass Business underwent a Cure53 audit in March 2020. The available pages do not establish whether these descriptions refer to the same assessment, disclose the audit findings or remediation status, or show which current app versions were covered. The existence of an audit is a positive signal, but without the report and its scope it is not enough to independently assess the results.
Multi-factor authentication
Tom’s Guide reports that NordPass supports multi-factor authentication through one-time-password authenticator apps and U2F hardware keys. This supports considering a compatible U2F security key as an optional second factor; it does not mean a hardware key is required or that a specific model has been verified.

Potential advantages
- A free entry plan is available for one account.
- Paid plans add multiple-device access; Family is described as including six separate accounts.
- The Premium and Family comparison includes Password Health and Data Breach Scanner.
- NordPass describes a zero-knowledge architecture and documents its cryptographic approach.
- A recent independent comparison reports support for authenticator apps and U2F hardware keys.
Caveats
- Free lacks multiple-device access and the listed Password Health and Data Breach Scanner features.
- Current pricing and renewal terms are not confirmed by the available plan result.
- The public audit descriptions available here do not expose the Cure53 report, findings, or current-version coverage.
- Some reported limitations in a 2025 review may no longer describe the current service.
Who should consider NordPass?
NordPass is a reasonable candidate to evaluate if you want a free single-account starting point, or if paid cross-device access and a six-account family option match your needs. The decision is less straightforward if you need verified current pricing before comparing value, or want detailed public audit findings to assess the security claims. Review the current plan and security documentation, then weigh those specifics against your own requirements before choosing a tier.
