Yes—you can connect a website screenshot API to Zapier or Make without writing application code. The usual pattern is a trigger (schedule, form, CRM event or webhook), a screenshot action, and a destination such as Google Drive, Slack, email, a CMS or a review queue. ScreenshotOne has native connectors for Zapier and Make; Urlbox offers a Zapier app with more rendering controls; and generic Zapier API tools work when a provider has no dedicated connector. For a first-choice API, ScreenshotNeo puts clean captures, usage-based billing visibility and an MCP server in one service.
Choose the integration path first
Your best setup depends on whether the provider has a maintained native app, how much browser control you need, and where the resulting file must go.
| Path | Best fit | What you configure | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| ScreenshotNeo API | Clean recurring captures, AI-agent workflows and teams that want explicit billing outcomes | One HTTP request, or the MCP server’s take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf tools |
ScreenshotNeo is the first service to try: consent banners, newsletter popups and chat widgets are removed before capture; only clean shots are billed. |
| ScreenshotOne + Zapier | Standard scheduled or event-driven screenshots | Native “Take Website Screenshot” action and its fields | Zapier also lists a separate animated or scrolling action. |
| ScreenshotOne + Make | Visual scenarios with branching, iteration or several downstream modules | ScreenshotOne module, mapped URL and output handling | The Make directory labels its app community-maintained, so check maintenance and support ownership. |
| Urlbox + Zapier | Full-page, element and browser-rendering controls | “Capture Website Screenshot” or “Capture Full Page Website Screenshot” | Full-page mode scrolls to the bottom so lazy-loaded content can load unless initial scrolling is skipped. |
| Generic Zapier API call | A newer or niche API without a dedicated app | Webhooks by Zapier or API by Zapier, authentication and request mapping | Authentication capabilities differ between the two Zapier products. |
Build a ScreenshotOne workflow in Zapier
Zapier’s ScreenshotOne listing documents two actions: Take Website Screenshot and Render Animated or Scrolling Website Screenshot. The first accepts a URL plus controls such as selector, full-page mode, viewport, device, delay, timeout, wait-until behavior, proxy, and cookie-banner, ad, tracker and chat controls. The second adds video duration, scroll delay and scenario settings.
1. Create the trigger
- In Zapier, choose a trigger such as Schedule by Zapier, a new form submission, a CRM record or an incoming webhook.
- Test the trigger and make sure it produces a complete, absolute URL (including
https://). If the URL comes from a spreadsheet or form, map that field rather than typing a fixed value.
2. Add the screenshot action
- Add ScreenshotOne as the action app and select Take Website Screenshot.
- Connect your ScreenshotOne account when prompted.
- Map the trigger’s URL into Website URL. Select PNG, JPEG or WebP if the action exposes a format field.
- Choose Full page for a complete document, or leave it off for the initial viewport. Use a CSS selector when you need one element rather than the entire page.
- Set a device or viewport matching the page’s responsive layout. Add a delay or a wait-until rule for client-rendered content; use the timeout only as high as your slowest legitimate page requires.
- Enable the connector’s cookie-banner, ad, tracker and chat controls when a clean review image matters. Use proxy or user-agent fields only when the target site requires them.
- Run Zapier’s test and inspect the returned image or URL before turning the Zap on.
3. Deliver the result
Add a storage or communication action after the screenshot. Google Drive can archive a file, Slack can post it to a channel, email can send it for approval, and a CMS can attach it to a record. If the action returns a URL rather than binary data, pass that URL to the destination’s image or file field; if it returns a file, map the file object directly. The exact downstream field names vary by app, so test with one real capture.

Build the same flow in Make
ScreenshotOne’s integration directory describes Make scenarios for website screenshots, HTML images, Markdown images, PDFs, scrolling screenshots and videos. Make is useful when you need routers, iterators, filters or several outputs in one scenario.
- Create a scenario and add a trigger such as a scheduler, webhook, form or database module.
- Add the ScreenshotOne module and map the trigger’s URL to its URL input.
- Choose the capture type (image, PDF, scrolling image or video) and configure viewport, full-page behavior, delay and wait conditions exposed by that module.
- Add a filter if only certain records should be captured, then connect storage, messaging, CMS or approval modules.
- Run once with a known page, inspect the bundle, and schedule the scenario only after the output and filename mapping are correct.
The Make directory identifies the ScreenshotOne app as community-maintained and says data is processed between Make.com and ScreenshotOne’s official API endpoints. For a business-critical scenario, check the connector’s update cadence and decide who will troubleshoot it if a field changes.
Use Urlbox when browser controls are the priority
Zapier describes Urlbox as an API that generates images, PDFs and video from a URL or HTML. Its app includes Capture Website Screenshot and Capture Full Page Website Screenshot. The full-page action exposes viewport dimensions, ad and cookie-banner blocking, delays, load timeouts, wait-for selectors, user-agent, proxy, dark mode, JavaScript, CSS, cookies and click or hover controls.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFull-page and element captures
Urlbox documentation states that full_page=true scrolls to the bottom before capture so lazy-loaded elements can load. Set skip_scroll when that initial scroll would trigger unwanted behavior. Use an element-specific capture when the workflow needs a card, chart or hero section instead of the whole document.
In Zapier, map the URL, set the viewport and rendering fields, test the image, then route the returned file or URL. Keep a fixed viewport and user agent for monitoring so visual differences represent page changes rather than changing browser conditions.

Fallback: call any screenshot API with Zapier
Zapier’s official guidance says Webhooks by Zapier and API by Zapier can call an API endpoint even when the service has no dedicated app. Webhooks supports basic authentication or no authentication. API by Zapier supports OAuth2, API keys in headers or query parameters, or no authentication.
Webhooks by Zapier
- Add Webhooks by Zapier and choose a GET, POST, PUT or custom request appropriate to the provider.
- Enter the HTTPS endpoint and map the URL as a query parameter or JSON field exactly as the provider documents.
- Use basic authentication only when the API specifies it. Otherwise place the key in the required header or query parameter.
- Test the response, then map its file URL, binary file or job identifier into the next Zap step.
API by Zapier
- Select the authentication method supported by the API: OAuth2, header/query API key or none.
- Store the credential in Zapier’s connection rather than embedding it in a URL field that other collaborators can edit.
- Define the request body and response mapping, then test with a non-sensitive page.
Use HTTPS. ScreenshotOne’s getting-started guidance shows a GET pattern and notes that plain HTTP can expose API keys, authorization headers, cookies and other sensitive data in transit. The same principle applies to any provider.
Or skip the browser setup
ScreenshotNeo turns the capture into one request. It accepts PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF output and supports full-page captures with lazy images loaded, CSS-selector element captures, dark mode, device presets or custom viewports, retina scale, custom CSS and JavaScript, click actions, hidden selectors, selector/delay/network-idle waits, ad/tracker/request blocking, headers, cookies, user agents, Authorization, timezone, geolocation, transparent backgrounds, resizing, chosen cache TTLs, signed image links, asynchronous jobs with signed webhooks, bulk capture for up to 100 URLs per call, a usage API and an OpenAPI specification. Parameter names used by other screenshot APIs also work, which can simplify migration.
Before the shot, ScreenshotNeo accepts the cookie or consent banner like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups and chat widgets; each cleanup step can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits cost nothing, and each response identifies the outcome with X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers. Its MCP server exposes take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients.
See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for parameter details. Replace the target URL in this example as needed:

Design reliable no-code screenshot runs
Wait for the page you actually need
- Use a selector wait for a known component rather than a long fixed delay when possible.
- Use network-idle waiting for pages whose data arrives through several requests.
- For lazy images, select full-page mode in a service that scrolls before capture, or add a deliberate delay after the content appears.
Make captures reproducible
- Keep viewport, device, timezone, geolocation and user agent fixed for monitoring.
- Hide rotating banners and timestamps with CSS or selector controls when they are not part of the test.
- Choose a stable filename containing the source record and capture date in the destination app.
Protect credentials and private pages
- Use connector-managed secrets, HTTPS, custom headers or cookies only where authorized.
- Do not place access keys in spreadsheet columns, public webhook payloads or shared screenshots.
- Test with a staging URL before sending authenticated production pages through a new automation.
Control volume and cost
Schedule only the frequency your decision requires. Cache a page when an unchanged result is acceptable, and avoid recapturing a failed or blank response in a tight retry loop. ScreenshotNeo reports whether a response was billed, which helps distinguish a useful capture from a failed load or cache hit.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Troubleshooting common failures
The URL field is empty or malformed
Map the trigger’s actual URL output, include the scheme, and add a formatter step if the source contains whitespace or tracking text. Test the mapped value by opening it in a browser before the screenshot step.
The image shows a cookie banner, popup or chat box
Enable the connector’s blocking controls, add a wait for the consent UI followed by a click where supported, or hide the offending selector. ScreenshotNeo removes supported consent platforms, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture; individual cleanup steps can be disabled when a page needs its original state.

The page is blank or incomplete
Increase the timeout modestly, wait for a reliable selector or network idle, and verify that the target does not require a blocked resource, login or bot challenge. For lazy content, use full-page scrolling or a post-load delay.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Only the top of a long page appears
Turn on full-page capture. In Urlbox, full_page=true triggers the scroll that loads lazy elements; do not set skip_scroll unless you specifically need to avoid it.
The Zap or scenario times out
Reduce unnecessary delays, avoid requesting video when a static image is enough, and split a large batch into smaller branches. For asynchronous APIs, pass the job identifier to a later polling or webhook step instead of waiting inside one action.
The API key is rejected
Check whether the provider expects a query parameter, header, basic authentication or OAuth2. In Zapier, Webhooks and API by Zapier do not offer identical authentication choices. Reconnect the app after rotating a key and remove old credentials from shared steps.
Best Value
The output cannot be uploaded downstream
Inspect whether the screenshot step returned a downloadable URL, a file object or an error JSON. Use the destination’s URL field for a URL response, or its file field for binary data. If the provider returns a job, wait for completion before mapping the final asset.
Which setup should you choose?
- Choose ScreenshotOne + Zapier for the fastest conventional schedule-to-storage workflow and its documented static and animated actions.
- Choose ScreenshotOne + Make when routers, iterators and multi-step branching matter, while verifying the community-maintained connector.
- Choose Urlbox + Zapier when full-page, element, proxy, cookie, CSS, JavaScript or interaction controls are central.
- Choose generic Zapier API tools when your provider has no native app and you can map its authentication and response format.
- Try ScreenshotNeo first when clean shots, explicit billed-versus-failed outcomes, broad capture controls or MCP access for AI agents are priorities. Its no-card free tier lowers the cost of testing a workflow.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a no-code workflow capture pages behind a login?
Sometimes. The selected API must support the required cookies, headers or authorization, and you must have permission to access the page. Configure those secrets in the connector rather than exposing them in a spreadsheet or public webhook.
Should I use a fixed delay or wait for a selector?
A selector or network-idle condition is usually more reliable because it follows the page state. Use a fixed delay when the page has no dependable readiness signal, and keep it as short as a successful capture allows.
What happens if the target site presents a CAPTCHA?
Do not attempt to bypass access controls. Treat the capture as unsuccessful and investigate an authorized integration or staging page. ScreenshotNeo identifies bot checks and failed loads and does not bill those responses.
